Hi guys! I am an accordion player from Czechia. You played fantastic, but there is one problem - Rosamunde, in its origin, isnt German song. It was written by a Czech composer Jaromir Vejvoda, and in Czech is called "škoda lásky". Of course, later, it was arranged for german audience, but it's a czech song❤.

Regards from Serbia and tnx for the song "Tamo daleko". Here is translation: "Over there, far away from the sea, There lies my village, there lies Serbia. 2X Over there, where the lemon blooms yellow, There was the only path for the Serbian army. 2X Over there, where the white Crimea blossoms, There, father and son gave their lives together. 2X There, where the Morava quietly flows, There my icon remained, and my patron saint's day. 2X There, where the Timok greets Veljko's city, There they burned down the church, where I wedded as a young bride. 2X Without my homeland, I lived on Krf, But proudly Serbia lived within me. 2X" The song "Tamo daleko" talks about nostalgia and love for Serbia and its traditions, even when one is far away from their homeland. It describes rural life, military paths, the sacrifice of fathers and sons for the country, as well as an emotional connection to Serbian culture and customs. The song highlights the importance of homeland and the pride one feels towards their country, even when they are far away from it.

"Tamo Daleko" is Serbian song, but it's not typical Serbian traditional song, it's kind of exception, based on French music and very different from the rest of Serbian traditional music. They also picked wrong song to represent Romanian traditionall music. Anyway, they showed they can play different music styles very well.

8:10 Tamo Daleko is a really sad song, it is from WW1 I tear up every time I hear it Lyrics: There, far away, far from the sea, There is my village, there is Serbia. There is my village, there is Serbia. There, far away, where the yellow lemon blooms, There was the only path open to the Serbian Army. There was the only path open to the Serbian Army. There, far away, where white lilies bloom, There, father and son together gave their lives. There, father and son together gave their lives. There, where the silent Morava travels, There my icon stayed, and my family saint. There my icon stayed, and my family saint. There, where the Timok greets Veljko's city, There they burned my church, where I was married when young. There they burned my church, where I was married when young. Without my homeland, I lived on Corfu, But I proudly cheered, "Long live Serbia!" But I proudly cheered, "Long live Serbia!"

In Mexico we have a deep connection with the accordion, it's used in a lot of current popular music, but also in traditional music as well, we have our own style of polka due to the cultural mix that happened in the north of the country, your rendition of Jarabe Tapatío was really good, and I hope that you read my comment because I'd love to hear you play a mexican polka 😁
@vnietov
@vnietov 3 жыл бұрын
Its just what I wanted to say. They picked Jarabe Tapatio, one of the most steriotypical songs.of Mexico, but one of the simplest, and I don"t blame them; but like you said, I invite them to dive into the norteño genre,for instance. We got plenty of songs composed for accordion, though not as known as Jarabe, but worth to try.

Duuuuuude.....y'alllllll.... I'm a metalhead and blues heart and classical mind and guitarist and pianist and multi-instrumentalist for so many years..... and for 3 1/2 months now (beginning of Feb. '23 to now May 18) I've been an accordionist, and I've barely touched my guitars since picking it up 😮 It's a harmonica on steroids and hand reed organ/autoharp (bass side of Stradella bass system) all in one. It's a one man band betwixt two hands, yo. I tell people that I recently started playing accordion and I expect that they're going to laugh and snicker and giggle and shit but then they are overwhelmingly positive about it. Accordion was the shiznittle till The Beatles came around and suddenly everyone wanted to learn guitar because that was the cool thing to do. But nowadays, I find, since guitarists are a dime a dozen quite frankly, people are actually MORE IMPRESSED with an accordion player because it's such a rarity!
