I have lived with a septic tank for almost 25 years. When I bought my house it was bunged up and backing up under the floor. I had the sludge pumped and then I ventured down about 8 feet into the chamber. I did drop down pieces of burning paper to begin with to check for CO2 The inlet pipe down to the tank bottom had a beautiful petrified fat water fall from chip pans. I cleaned the outfall piping and vacated the tank never to return. Across the garden was an inspection chamber covered by heavy concrete slabs.I rodded and washed the pipes and have continued to do so every year. Then two weeks ago after my annual up to my ankes in it I was putting the concrete slabs bag forgot there was a hole.I ended up with a deep puncture wound in my elbow and am still nursing a broken rib,s Phil😂
