@@ElectricMountainBiker completely different beasts mate. A Yorkshire dales sheep has never seen a mountain biker in its life, well it has but it forgets after 2 minutes. Judging by the shows at the Kendal Mountain Festival last weekend 2025 is going to be the year of the gravel bike. I’m sure it’s fun going out into the middle of nowhere and wild camping then pedalling back to your camper van and continuing up to Scotland, but it’s not really my idea of mountain biking. Give me 5 or 6 hours of difficult rocky descents over leisurely cruises in the… cut down forests anytime!
@philarnold19672 ай бұрын
What a shame, devils gallop was always a good fun trail with the rock drop, as you say ruined and looks like they were working on it at the time so dare say its all the way down now, hopefully the rain and the motor bikes will drag the crap out and put it back to how it was eventually. The Colthouse descent was sanitised twice. First when they cut the trees down and then more when they put cable in the ground. Proper crap now. The second is on Graythwaite estates land, they're doing plenty to upset people, including stopping anybody from fishing anymore on Esthwaite.

Gutted for you. Did a similar loop recently. Just before the first ruined descent, you can push up a path to the right towards Latterbarrow, which will unlock some single track heaven and drop you into the same road about 1/4 mile further up. And the last one, if you go up the fire road about a mile, you'll get to one of the graythwaite enduro trails (shhhhh) , again dropping on to the same road. Agree with you though, it didn't make any sense to sanitise the middle of a trail in the middle of nowhere!

@johnlesoudeur36532 ай бұрын
@@davejones2157 I fitted the Ultimate 3P. I positioned it so that the cables exit under the brake levers (XTR Race). I used some denatured alcohol to fit the grips and they are comfortable and stay in place. The cable exits accept directly fitting 4.0mm housing and it comes with a barrel adjuster that I use for the rear shock. (I also got another one for the fork). The fork has a Raceday 2 damper that also directly accepts 4.0 housing as does the RS Nude RL3 shock. No problems pushing the 4.0mm housing through the headset without dismantling it. I still used the 0.9mm Jagwire cable mainly because the Twistloc used two pieces of PTFE tubing at the cable exits which will wear over time but can easily be replaced by some 1.0mm x 2.mm tubing that can be cut and is readily available (rather than trying to find and buy the RS maintenance kit).
