If the driver pushes sound to a certain standard. it will continue to push sound to that same standard 50 years down the line. The only thing that really improves is the pricing (i.e. cheaper headphones are getting better). There are still headphones on par with Sennheiser Orpheus that are being made today by brands like Stax, Fostex, and Audeze, but they aren't $30k because they're still in production and don't have 24 years worth of collectors' hype behind them. But I'm talking headphones in the $2000-6000 range. If you're trying to compare these to $400 headphones, then you're setting them up for failure.

Bought some $7 headphones at dd's Discount, they look like Beats (no they aren't the fake ones, it's another brand of headphones). Never really buy cheap headphones because they don't sound great or end up not working but damn was I wrong. It's lasted for more than a year! I expected them to last a month since they were cheap, but no. Really great sound quality, almost sound the same as the beats, can't really hear anyone talking with the music, nice design (look like Beats, but have a thin round circle in the center instead of the B) and pretty cheap. Hoping to buy another pair once mine end up giving up. I would actually recommend this headphone if I ever remember the name of the brand, lol.

Logitech is a lot less known, but their price to quality ratio is a lot better than that of Beats or Turtle Beach. I've tried both out. Turtle Beach has 7.1 Surround Sound headphones priced at $70 minimum, and they have a very bad sound quality, whereas Logitech's wireless line is around the same price and gives you very good highs and mids, but the bass is mediocre. TL;DR - Logitech obviously isn't the best, but it's better than Turtle Beach due to it's unpopularity and price-to-quality ratio.

Beats were designed for genres of music that have a lot of bass (most modern trap, pop and hip-hop). How you like the headphones depends on the music; you do not listen to jazz on Beats.
