Corporals Corner I hope YT gets your channel straightened out. If content like yours starts disappearing and replaced by content that YT is pushing then I’ll make the move to follow you by other means. Keep up the great videos, love your approach to teaching and the fact it involves a lot of bacon at times. 😀

Memories you are making are invaluable. Went frog gigging with my dad when I was his age. We broke our light and my dad stole the round headlight out of our old Toyota pickup. It actually fit the lamp housing! Best time I ever had. He passed last year and memories like that are pure treasures. Great video man!!!!

Since its your son's last video I'd be interested in his view comparing such things as most useful and used gear, tent v hammock, food prep, most enjoyable events, etc. This from a less experienced perspective. Helpful for other dads wanting to get their kids into the outdoors. Enjoyed this series as usual.

Love these videos with “little guy”. From the beginning, when he is there - you both glow. As a dad knowing what these times are like, you are a rich man. Also appreciate your comments on, “(if things or weather change)…I’ll figure it out. That is what this training is all about. To “figure it out” when you need to. Might be a nice add in comments when you are making these videos, what you would look at changing if situation, weather, lost food or water, etc were different in your setup. These never lose interest or gaining knowledge. THANK YOU !!!!

First, I’m terribly sorry your marriage failed, but even more that your son doesn’t live with you, full time. Kids need their Dad. I was an only child, but not by choice! I begged my parents for years! So, I’ve always been big on family. My husband & I have been married for 43 yrs & counting. I can’t imagine raising our sons, alone! Your son will NEVER forget the time you’ve done things together. Our granddaughter has been in the USAF for over a year, now, & our grandson just joined (delayed) the USN. Our older son got married & has 2 kids. Our younger son has 4 types of epilepsy & lives in another State in a group home. He loves the people there and he’s not hallucinating & living on the street! What an incredible blessing. Your new site looks grand. I think I’ll skip the frog legs & try to get some sleep. God bless you & your son. I hope whatever happened in yr marriage won’t generate nastiness & each of you are able to be nice to one another for your son’s sake. God help you all.

I do have mixed feelings on this. I still have married parents, they should have never had but 1 and they had 3, a long time ago you marry for better or worse. But there is so much worse. I’m divorced from my 2 kids dad and glad of it. He changes so much.

I would like to thank you for getting me back in the woods again. I was injured pretty bad! I have had six surgeries to reattach every tendon ligament. From the scapular to my pecks. Ever completely ruptured my right bycept. I am missing the tendon that runs oerralel to my collar bone. I also tore my left shoulder and bycept. I blew out my pattella tendon in my right knee. Then I also completly torn my left Quadracepts. My neck has three fused vertibras. To ware I can not feel my thumb, my pointer, and the next two fingers. Then I have two hurniated, four bulging, along with my ciatica nerve is pinch.. I was told I would not be able to walk.. normally and not for long periods of time. I will have problem sitting standing bending and neiling on one knee. Well I said to myself.. fuck that.. I'm getting back to were I was or dam close to it!! I can do everything I was told that I couldn't! It took many of years.. but I can do what I used to.. might have to do it a little different. But I can do it! . So it has been six years since I have been in the woods.. Camping, fishing, hunting, kicking, hiking up and down hills and small mountains. Why I was laid up. I watched your channel. And have learned so much! I would like to Thank you fir inspiring me to get back in the woods . Doing all of the things I love doing! THANK YOU SIR! Maybe one day our paths will cross and I can shake your hand and a hug.. LoL 😆! It would be a wish come true if I went camping with you! Build up a sweet camp sight! Set a couple of fishing lines. I would really like to learn how to make the L 7 line traps.. if I am saying it right.. I know how to hunt, fish, and do some things. I would like to learn how to trap a rabbit.. catch and cook. Well .. I know you are a busy guy.. and I'm sure it will probably never happen. It just would be really cool. A bucket list type thing. I would like to Thank you again. I wish you many prayers and blessings to you and yours. From me and mine! Keep making your shows and I will keep on watching them! Just me one if your biggest fan!

Samuel, very cool comment. I was tore up in a car wreck in 1990, Femur broke n came through my jeans, broken hip, cracked patella, separated shoulder, basilar skull fracture. I was 24 , healed up under a year, and back to work at an Ohio scrap yard. 30 years later, today they tell me pin must be removed from femur and screws from hip. Go home 4 to 6 months n heal, then back in for the hip replacement. I have been putting it off. You just may have boosted my drive. No matter what, may Our Lord bless you. Jimmy O.

BEST VIDEO EVER. You see, I am a human being, not a sheep. Algorithms don't tell me what I like and don't like. Just because I'm female doesn't mean I want to watch Someone put on makeup 7,000 different ways. I don't even wear the crap. I do however want to learn every single knot you care to demonstrate, Shelter, Firelay, foraging, Hell even what you're cooking. I want to see them more than once because I never get it right the first time. In my book you are in my personal top 5.

Great to see the young lad picking up all these skills so quickly and using them to enhance the camp experience. Before government education systems stole vocational training, fathers would train their sons in what they did, so the son now trained would find a valuable place in society. This training that Shawn is giving his son is harking back to those former days. It is really the quintessential life training of humanity for the older generation to pass down skills to the younger and this has happened down through the millennia. I have enjoyed seeing this echo of the past re-lived in these last five videos. Good work guys, have fun.

Great video Kelly! Thanks for including the coyote's calls...made my dog bark...lol. I hear them nearly every night around the creek next to my farm...and every time I camp. Corporals Corner Yeah weird that they push make up channels to the front page instead of educational content that has the potential to save someone’s life

I’ve been watching these while working in office and they are great. So many golden nuggets thrown in there as well. Can’t wait to get back out soon. Thank you for showing the way.

"When ther're gone, they're gone. Yes, BUT... After that comes a (for some, difficult) transition when your kids go from being kids to "Friends" It's like wooden gliders, you have to craft them carefully, and care for them, but then, for them to fly, you have to let them go. For some, this is an impossible step. Both of our kids are strong, proud, obstinate, and extremely smart. Dealing with them as adults has at times, been a challenge. It's like any worthwhile thing, a difficult task, but worth doing right.

Hay liked this video, like I like all your video's. I too have adventures with my son and are very proud of him as well. Maybe you could do some camp trips in bad rainy hot weather?

Do you believe your Son will choose to enter the Military ? I hope he does. My 2 heroes in life are my Dad and my oldest Brother. Dad earned a Purple Heart in the second World war, and Brother flew chopper over Nam.
