A large part of why I watch your videos is the commentary on life. You don't need to apologize for those. It's your channel and your content. Plenty of other channels to watch and learn skills from. Same as gear reviews, easy to find. We, because I know I am the only who feels this way, watch you for your perspective and commentary. It's a way for me to relax and keep my sanity. Learn some stuff to make things easier for me and mine in the event of personal or widespread feces hitting the oscillator. Things to practice until my life's work is done. Thanks for sharing. Corpsman Up!

I don't usually leave comments, and I am a huge fan of your work. However the message here is amazing AF. When covid hit and I was kicking drugs and booze, I decided this was it. Got gear, bought a camera and never looked back. I encourage my friends and family to choose anything they love and want to lean and do it for themselves. If nobody watches, I'm still having the best life so far. And I'm 42 so....

I have the solution to your coffee dilemma...... I take nothing but my favorite coffee, no exceptions. I put it in a coffee filter, tie it with a metal bread tie, throw it in my cup. As it boils it makes my coffee. If I need it stronger I just swirl the bag around and squeeze. Basically, just a homemade tea bag of my favorite coffee. Takes 20 seconds to prep 2 of em.

Brother I just want to thank again for your service. I also want to thank you for the time and effort you put into helping others learn detrimental skills to life and survival. In this video you said many turn off or fast forward through you speaking honestly and from your heart about the reality of life. I just want you to know I thoroughly enjoy it, especially when it comes from a brother and someone I trust. I would love to go to the pathfinder school and meet you and learn all that I can. I feel I do have a lot of skills but I'm also smart enough to know I can always learn more from those who know things different from me or how to do some of the same things in a different way. I can't afford that path right now but I can watch and learn then go and practice those skills on my own. Take care and God bless.

I'm 63 now and so I pack more than a minimum of stuff. I have a kiddie wagon with wood sides that I pull my stuff into the forest with. I erect a 7' X 7' small tent, with a 15' X 20' tarp staked down over it. Rain won't get within five feet of my tent. I fish America's large rivers for monster catfish, and stay for one week at a time in the woods, and typically take 50 to 70 pounds of gear in my wagon. I have medium size leather saddle bags from my bike, that go on my dog. She packs her own stuff. Having a carefully trained dog and a HIGH QUALITY COMPASS makes travel through a few miles of forest fun. My hero, Dad, started teaching me bushcraft around 1961 or so, now that he is gone, It's just Me & my dog. Such a shame I had no sons to teach tracking, skinning, ect. to. Love your videos, carry on, outstanding job.

Love your work, Mr. Kelly. Another great video. I was very much into the outdoors when I was young, but then I got distracted by the rat race, job stresses, etc etc. Woke up one day, I was 60 years old, broke, in pour health, and put of shape. hadn’t been camping in decades and was living in a state (Iowa) without the least idea even where to find woods where I wouldn’t be trespassing. Not to mention all those skills I used to have but lost because of nonuse. Your video advice has been a great help, a godsend. Thanks to your videos and those of some other bushcrafters here on KZbin, I have started to get off my fat *ss and started to live again. When I was 60, I had just quit my job of 20+ and was going nowhere, feeling really old. But while I may be a couple of months short of 62 now, and still have a long way to go, with a lot of wasted life to regret, I am now mostly positive, feeling younger, and looking to spend at least a decade living to the max of my abilities. Withthose new lights in the tunnel, I can’t bring myself to be bothered by a virus. Thanks in significant part to you and your example, sir!!! May God be with you and your secret pond. All my best!

I have slowly worked my self in acquiring some of these skills from your teachings. I take my 3 year old son and autistic sister out side to pick up dry wood for BBQing later.. . My sister loves strings, rope so we watch a few videos on simple knots and practic . I explain to the kids why it was important to pick up the branches and learn the knots earlier that week. We try to incorporate a little practice at a time so it doesn't feel overwhelming trying to learn everything at once. I recently saw your videos on boiling mettle down and casting your own knife. I wouldn't mind trying it but I have access to carbon and stain less steel at work so I'll probably just cut my knife out with a torch and grind it down. I thank you for sharing your wisdom BOSS👍

New subscriber here. While others are being forced to stay home and binge Netflicks I work at a factory that somehow made the Essential Infrastructure list so I still get to drag in and surround myself with possibly infectious people. Since I am stuck in this rut I am enjoying your freedom from the irritations of my daily drudgery. I can't relax and get away from it but I can watch you do it! I particularly love watching you find and prepare the site, setting up, and for some reason the different coffees. We have a vile brand at work so I bring in my own instant. I was attached to packets of Folgers Golden Dusk Coffe Noir but can no longer get it. I enjoy watching you try the different instant coffees and it gratifies me in ways I don't understand. It's like I can vicariously savor the mug of coffee after eating a bacon-themed meal in a small patch of woodsy isolation. I feel like a laid-back stalker who is content to feel the vibes. Keep up the isolation camping!

A lot of your videos have inspired me to learn more of the rugged aspects of the outdoors such as knot tying and basic shelters/identification, as up till now I've always backpacked with packed meals, a nice tent, and a warm sleeping bag. I'm especially excited to try winter camping next year, and put some of this quarantine time into practicing the knots and other things you teach. Would you consider doing a series on plant identification? Keep up the great work!

"That's too much bacon said nobody ever" you just needed a few dashes of Tabasco on that hobo dinner, you want caffeine, try Death Wish Coffee, they just came out with instant single serve packs, other than that, another great outing, P.S. I found your channel during the covid shutdown at work, so thank you😄

First things first, "thank you for your service". Second, "thank you for your great videos". Man I love the way you plan your meal plan and how creative you are in contracting your shelters. I'd rather camp in the raw nature the way you do, vs tent camping, just love it.

I enjoy your subtle sense of humor and incidentally mullien is good for more than wiping your butt. Mullien is a respiratory booster too. Check that out. Thanks for another great video

That is what asthma med is made from. So make a tea for a kid with a couple of dried leaves. Some of our Family had to do this back in '90s.( No money situation at time) It goes wild in or ditches down here. Have friend grows it for natural meds for asthma.

Never apologize for wisdom. Leonardo Davinci has been quoted to me as saying, "most people are food bags and privy fillers." We gotta do what we gotta do to keep that quote from being true. Keep doing what you're doing. I enjoy the videos and appreciate the insight.

Have you tried bacon wrapped bacon n peanut butter saminch.....deeelish!!! Another fine show !! As usual another lesson learned or remembered seem to remember something about pine needles from waaay back. Since I been getting older I started writing stuff in a ledger. Knots, firestarting camp food etc. Your channel has inspired me to help people in my area. The recent events in the world being what they are, it's a good time to pass knowledge....thank man

UK is in lockdown - we have an hour to go out and exercise, shop, do chores. we may go to work if it is a "Key-worker job". we must remain at home until further notice maintaining 2 metres (6' 9") from others even family. We are NOT permitted to stay out at night camping. This is tantamount to martial law. keep 'em coming corp. now my health is back after flu, 20 press ups, ten squats, 2 mile cycle and crunches every day.
