2 Days Fishing the Bristol Channel with a Special Guest

It's just not winter without a trip to the Bristol channel. With the Cod season very slow to get going this year, I figured I'd need all the help I could get to make the 10hr round trip worthwhile. So with that in mind, I gave Wayne ‎‎@TheShoreHunter a shout, and we set about making a plan.
This is the first session from a 2 day trip which saw us fish for 36hours on about 3 hours of sleep. We fished hard, had a laugh, and landed some nice fish.

Fish down in front of the sea defence repairs, access the old boat ramp and fish the rising tide in front of the reefs. Bass, rays, conger, cod all caught here But make sure you get access back up the boat slipway adj. to the pub and then fish from the van along the sea wall, toilets nearby and cafe by the railway crossing.

Dog fish are the fishermans plague but its still a fish on the hook , and in my experience fishing with brade i hate the stuff saws its way through ceramics in no time , give me mono any day. Another nice video, look forward to the next one , tight lines 🦈

I carry superglue for emergency with the inner of eye going when on a road trip it gets you buy for a few days not long term. Also looked like a very comfortable mark perfect venue for first meeting well done gentleman will look forward to the rest of your trip Alex. Da iawn 👍

I was there Tuesday afternoon / night tide 12th Dec. All I had was the bloody doggie fest, there was a couple of others next to me who had a 9lb conga and had to land it on the steps. I also fished at the Hinkley point, on Monday 11th Dec next to the Gate by the power station, which is about 5/6 miles to your right along the channel. I had a 5lb thornback ray there, My very first so PB for me. When was you at Blue anchor for this video ???? I was a little further down from where you where, { and there was no rock's in front of me ] behind you when you was sitting on your box. Ohh by the way I am from Birmingham, so Not that far from derby

Great video. I had exactly the same problem with the the ceramic eye on my brand new tronixpro guerilla. A little chip v-notch snapping the braid. (the company replaced the whole top section which was very nice of them as it is not heat glued in so cannot be removed easily). I got replacement rod tips from amazon just in case and put one on the old tip section. I am wondering if the braid is wearing the ceramic ring?

Groynes are used like a breakwater so the beach doesn't go wandering off down the coast....which erodes everything. Those poles with the baskets show the ends of the groynes at high tide which stops people coming too close to the groynes

Yep pretty much this ^^^ But also it helps to break up the waves/swells, so there isn't as much force when it hits the sea defences and helps them last longer
