i'm Team Cabello as there are some good songs on her album like her collab with Lil Nas X, the Drake ones are the worst though(especially that one where he does a bad Jamaican accent that sounds even worse then any of Eminem's fake accents) LOOM is just rancid garbage all the way through, somehow the band finds a way to sink lower and lower, they're almost as bad as AJR at this point. I cringed when I saw Dan Reynolds on one of the seasons of Hell's Kitchen.

I've always been super sade because their first 2 LPs are so good imo, after that every album has a couple of songs that are good and everything else sucks 😞 They're my all-time favorite band and to see them go from very emotional and sonically sound Vegas show music to garbage pop (I listen to those songs in the gym funnily enough to pump me up with the fast tempo and bombasticness). I wish they'd go back to their ROOTS (lol) and make Rock with a show music spin, they did both really well and I don't know why they transitioned so suddenly to trash.

I personally would choose Imagine Dragons. Both ID and Camila tried something new, but I feel like ID made a couple decent songs out of it, while Camila crashed and burned. Camila’s has no redeeming qualities, it’s so scattered even though it’s going for something cohesive. ID’s has a couple of songs like In Your Corner and Don’t Forget Me that play with some new sounds as well as talk about Dan’s personal struggles a lot. Camila feels like she’s copying a ton of other artists while not bringing anything new to the table, while ID is at least TRYING to do something new and add to their already existing (and frankly tiring) sound.

The difference is that Charli succeeds and Camilla doesn’t. Maybe I’m just getting old but I’m just not excited about new music anymore. I didn’t even realize Beyoncé put out a country album until I heard coworkers talk about it, Taylor Swift dropped a tedious, overlong beige tsunami of a double album and I can’t remember a single tune from it, and my reaction to Kendrick and Drake beefing is just “meh”. I never liked Imagine Dragons or Camila Cabello but even by their low standards these albums are simply ghastly. I think I’ll just listen to my old middle school mixes.

I love Imagine Dragons and I would consider myself a hardcore fan but let's be real. This album is a stinker. I loved Night Visions and Smoke + Mirrors because the lyrics felt more personal and they had a nice sound and style that made them unique. I'd say even Origins and Mercury Act 1 & 2 actually have songs that feel more personal as well since they're songs about Dan's drug addiction, depression, his relationship to Aja, and his battle with AS. However, Loom feels so rushed and incomplete with lyrics that feel like they could've been written for anyone by anyone. On the plus side, it's nice to see him look happy again!

It was terrible, and I actually love Camila and have been a fan of hers since Fifth Harmony was on X Factor. She has such an amazing voice and is a talented songwriter, but this album didn't showcase her vocal or writing ability at all! This new direction she's trying she needs to get a map and find her way out of it, cause it's just not working! I understand the criticisms regarding Imagine Dragons wholeheartedly as a fan, but I can't help but be intrigued by what they come out with even when it feels like they're still holding back on occasion. I'm still uncertain as to where I would rank Loom compared to the previous albums but I wouldn't say that I hate the album since there are tracks that are genuinely decent and you can tell that the guys are at least putting in SOME effort. They said themselves that they don't intend to stick with a single genre of music in their albums and that's okay even if it doesn't jive with everyone. Although I will say the fact that it's a short record is a breath of fresh air compared to Mercury with its 32 songs jammed within its two acts (I personally think Acts 1 and 2 should've been their own separate albums instead of it all being one album and have Loom be the seventh album which it technically is in my eyes). I couldn't give two shites about Camillo Cabello. I honestly forgot she was still a thing.

Team Dragons. I've always liked their older stuff, and despite 3 of their 4 albums before LOOM being pretty weak, i wasnt sad about this sounds they went for here. Obivously it's very generic, but the production is objectively miles better than what was on mercury act 2, and most of the songs are at least listenable, despite how basic they may be. Also, it actually sounds like they really enjoyed making this album, which to me is probably the most important thing!

I liked the imagine dragons one but thought the middle was really filler as you pointed out- as soon as take me to the beach played i thought it was awful and such a step down from songs like nice to meet you which i thought they nailed in terms of the fun and loose enjoyment factor, and i did not dig gods dont play or in your corner at all, started strong, ended strong (not j balvins remix- the fire song instead.) - new peppy pop sound that i liked, production was definitely the highlight though i thought it was really distinct and dynamic at the best of moments and messy at the worst- i feel like they deserve some credit for thinking to put a skrillex drop in eyes closed to make it more interesting, although i don't like it- it makes it laughable but at least i remember it lmaao, as for camila- actual ass.

As an Imagine Dragons fan, I have to say that this is definitely their worst album. It did feel very fake. But, I did like In Your Corner, Fire In These Hills, and Don't Forget Me. They felt alot more emotional and real to me than the rest of the songs on that album (maybe that's just because I'm a teenage girl, idk). But yeah, LOOM was pretty bad. I hope that someday Imagine Dragons will get back to writing good, emotional, real songs, like the ones on Night Visions, Smoke and Mirrors, and Mercury.

Do you mean on critic scores? In that case, that means jack shit since critics are too afraid to give negative reviews nowadays. Also it's early days yet; Origins got pretty decent scores in its first week or so but later harsh ones brought the average down.

"if you were never a fan of this group this album will not win you over" you might be right for most people, but something about it just worked more than any previous works. i didn't love it by any means but i didn't hate it and i've hated all of their previous albums. i think their newest one has way better production and actually has a couple of interesting ideas with sound. i wouldn't even call it completely safe to be honest but that's just me.

Haven't heard of any singles from Camilla's new album thankfully compared to Imagine Dragons where I've only heard Eyes Closed and that song is even bad

I was a big fan of Camila Cabello’s music up until this new era. The personality change had me concerned before any new music came out and I was soooo disappointed with the first couple singles. I held out hope that the album would save my worries, but alas it did not. I don’t see myself revisiting any song on her album. 😢
