Viking kit looks amazing very authentic and great fighting both sword and shield and duel wielding axe and sword. The chemistry between these two was great as well good sportsmanship and fair from both ends

Viking's shield is a plus for him, but the samurai's armor is stronger. Best chance the norseman has is to use a spear and shield combo to try and disable the samurai, and then finish him off with a knife once he's on the ground. Samurai also has plenty of ranged weapons though.

I recall they mainly used ranged weapons and polearms - the katana was their last resort.

@@mikaelwojciechowski7281 This is true. Also, since most people think of 1500s samurai, firearms would also come into play.

@GothamStatePolice yeah, that's true too. But without firearms, a samurai was more likely to engage in a fight with a naginata than with the katana - But they were indeed excellent swordsmen nonetheless.

That little "I've been hurt so must hop for a moment" at the very end was relatable, until I replayed and realized it was a crotch-shot that made him dance. (Oops.) Samurai armor was designed for shooting arrows from horseback. Beware the crotch?

The oldest mail shirt we have found at a viking site was at Gjermundbu, which is a 10th century site. So to answer your question, vikings have been wearing mail for at least 1000 years lol

I use shield and side sword often and I'm just screaming break the distance you have a shield XD you can attack and defend with both the shield and sword. Love there kits

Trouble with closing the distance with that lump of a training shield is rim punching him could break his teeth and I actually didn't want to cause any injury. I usually train against other shield I can ram into when closing so best not risk it here.

It is of course designed to be a two-handed weapon... but if you've ever actually used one, you'll know that (especially with an Edo period hilt) it's extremely easy to use one handed as the blade is often quite short. My sidesword for example is longer than the uchigatana in this video.

There's a dual wielding style called Niten Ichiryu, look it up

@@SixDeadZeroHEMA The blade is short but also relatively heavy. It's certainly easier to use with two hands. Your experience will be different if you're used to light wooden or cinq-alloy katana of course. Looked to me like you were both just trying to have some fun and not injure each other. But against shield and sword a yari would have been a far more interesting match so that it's primary battle weapon(s) against primary battle weapon(s).

Very good actors, great moviefighting, a real Samourai of Viking will be use each weapons totaly differently. How they are using their weapons, will never survive a acient battlefield. I am sorry.

No way we're not actually ancient warriors? What gave it away? That we were filmed on a smart phone😂 Two mates having a play fight not wanting to hurt one another. But thanks for your expert input I'm sure alot of viewers were confused...
