If you buy onions they cheaper and on a day that you have a little spare time cut them up and then freeze them yourself ..would be even cheaper ...also home brand things and fruit and veg from a market stall is a lot cheaper also

Just made the chick pea and rice curry. So tasty. Don't be afraid to nuts with the spices. I wasn't shy about the garahm masala in particular. I am also cooking a chicken I got reduced and will shred some of that up to have with it. Yum yum yum.

They are a little cheaper but to be honest.. when they are frozen like this I use such a little bit for me it saves money as usually is I cut an onion I will use the whole onion. So this way I use less of everything which makes it cheaper for me :) xxx

Instead of the cheese try 2 eggs and a bit of parmesan next time ( you have to temper the eggs with some pasta water to make the sauce ) but its really good, my family love it.

Use a food processor to chop your own onions then freeze. Also branded frozen pea is a rip-off. I buy Sainsbury's own that tastes the same.

I think you do a great job showing people how cheap good tasty meals can be so good on you! It makes me quite sad that so many people don't know how to cook even basic dishes, and how people don't realise that if they just do a little bit of work in the kitchen (I call it work, personally I love cooking it's not a chore for me) and they can make real food for so little! And although I tend to keep fresh onions and garlic etc (they keep for ages) I've seen from my sister's house how helpful the frozen onions can be for really busy mums and dads.

That garlic bread is a Tesco value brand. Tesco have rebranded there value range to make it look more up market.

Yeah I buy it all the time...most of there range stuff is now called hearty ...some are called mollys ie the biscuits and I think things like veg is now re branded harvest. And all really nice and budget friendly xx

I learnt this traditional carbonara recipe. It uses only 4 ingredients. Spaghetti, cheese, egg, bacon. Possibly add peas for some green is a good idea but you can get that really cheap. Just looking for inspiration for uni, have about £4 a day on food and i exercise a lot so I need a slightly different dietary profile to the average person. Great video, got my mind going on what I could do
