I know what you mean about the chopper! We used them for years. Then I discovered frozen chopped onions. Absolute game changer. Fresh, add as much as you want, cooks beautifully and no more expensive.

Yes I have bought those before too and they are brilliant :) I have also chopped lots of onions up in advance, frozen them and then shaken some out when I need them :) really good value that way too :) xxx

Make your “cheap” rice in quantity. Portion for your family in freezer bags or containers. You can then thaw and reheat. I thaw on the counter or in the microwave, put in a glass serving bowl with a splash of water, cover with a damp paper towel, and microwave. This takes less than five minutes, mostly hands off, and costs pennies. Also works with brown rice. I love watching your show!

Can make it a 10 minute meal by cooking the rice in the microwave. Double boiling water to rice.. cover with cling film and microwave on high for 10 mins! Perfect every time xx great video

We actually have a specific name in the US for an omelette with ham, onion, bell pepper, and cheese. We call it a Denver or Western omelette and they’re common at diners all over the US. American omelettes are almost always folded French-style omelettes though. If it’s not folded we’d call it a frittata. But either way it looks delicious!

Oh yes we usually fold ours too but when I make a big one for two to share I just leave it like this! But traditionally our omelettes are folded too!! I also think we call ours a frittata this way too :) xxx

Hi Kerry love your cheap/quick meals 😁 Did the spaghetti dish fill everyone though? The portions seemed a little small, or else your bowls and frying pan are deceptively big 😁 We have 2 adults and 3 under 5s and we use 500g of pasta for a meal.

Yes I know exactly what you mean.. we have bar stools so when I make this dinner I make them (2fryjng pans so 2 are being made at once) and then we all share those whilst the next lot are cooking in the pan! But yes.. keeping them in the oven works so well and then you can all sit down and eat together :) xxx

Those meals are more like snacks. The omelette dish is perfect for breakfast. I wouldn't class them as dinners. Are your children getting enough nutrients.
