When you slow down you have to downshift in a manual also downshifting the engine can help the car slow down too because Downshifting slows you down because when you shift to a lower gear, your engine is forced to work harder against the current road speed, creating a braking effect known as "engine braking" - essentially using the engine's resistance to slow the car down instead of relying solely on the brakes; you also have to downshift or else your gonna be in gear 5 going 25 mph and its gonna take a long time to get back up to speed so slowing down while down shifting once you make the turn you’ll be in like second gear or something and your acceleration up to speed will be faster so thats why they look like they are constantly shifting because they are you go 1st gear 2nd gear 3rd gear 4th gear 5th gear and oh look a turn is coming up so you slow down by breaking and going from 5th gear 4th gear 3rd gear 2nd gear make the turn and then go 2nd gear 3rd gear 4th gear etc

Obviously it depends on the type of bullet and the type of gun and exactly where you were hit. But generally speaking, a gunshot to the leg is just as likely to.kill you as a gunshot to any other body part with the exception being the head which is why people generally don't do it even in movies
