Florida Baseball and TCU Baseball played in the bracket final at the 2023 College World Series. Florida would advance to the College World Series Finals with a win, while TCU needed a win to force a winner take all game on Thursday.

A good college team is not unlike a rookie-level or even single-A minor league team. Major league scouts value playing time in the SEC very highly, I've heard that a season in the SEC is the equivalent to a season in AA in terms of valuable experience gained. A college team could beat a major league team but they'd need to have a very good pitcher play extremely well. It's possible but unlikely.

TCU clearly didn't belong in the football championship game - not even on the same field. But they tried in baseball. Texas won baseball national championship in 2005 and football national championship in 2005. TCU was close in baseball but no a good enough team to even make the finals.
