That Doug Moench-written Spectre series was a good read. Especially the first 15 or so issues because of the interior art by Gene Colan, followed by Gray Morrow (IIRC), and also the high quality of cover artists on those early issues: Mike Kaluta, Jose Luis Garcia Lopez, Mike Mignola, etc.

I always loved the Spectre. The 1960s Neal Adams run was awesome. Aparo stories in Adventure Comics in the 70s were great, too. He's an awesome character
