We thought we'd have a quiet Christmas, but 2 days before Christmas we got a call for 2 more teens to come join us.
There is definitely a NEED in every state for foster parents. I hope this encourages you to take the first step to get licensed yourself or help a foster parent local to you :)

I cannot fathom sending foster kids to respite over Christmas (no matter how awesome you and Peter are❤).

I did foster care for four years. Ended up adopting a sibling group of four. It was the hardest most rewarding thing I’ve ever done

Wow! What a large sibling group - glad you could keep them together. I’m sure it’s still hard at moments even after adoption 🙏

Your 17 year old sounds like such a good person. You should give the kids a nickname or something tho because I’m having trouble keeping track of the kids. How long has this 17 year old been with you?

Since October. She was also 1 of the 4 teens we had in August for respite for 3 weeks. I know, we’ve had kids come in and leave so fast - it has been confusing 😂

I admire you and Peter. You are amazing Foster Parents. If I could I would do foster parenting. We ended up adopting our 3 children who are now 28 (in 2 weeks), 23 and then 11 years ago my nephews newborn son was going to go in foster care and we were asked to take him from the NICU (he was born addicted) to keep him out of the Foster care system so we did and when he was 1 we adopted him and he will be 12 in February. My older 2 are on the Autism Spectrum and my 11 year old keeps us busy which I love but I am headed in for my 5th back surgery on January 23rd so between my 3 kids and my health and I’m not old but I’m not young either lol (shhhh I’m 59) doing foster care would be a bit of a challenge. If I could take newborns and sit and rock them all day and be a grandma to these precious babies I would love that but I can’t lift them 😢. So I will keep watching you and feel the excitement for foster care vicariously through you and wish I could and know in my heart that if I could I would. Lisa, I’m so sorry you have been unable to have children of your own, my ❤goes out to you and I send you lots of hugs and love. I had to have a hysterectomy at 30 as preventative to ovarian cancer after 7 1/2 years of infertility. I know how your heart aches and I hope one day you will either be able to have children of your own or adopt some of your foster children. The world needs more amazing foster parents like you. You are so caring and loving and I know you and Peter will will be blessed to be parents and have children to call your own and fill your home with the sweet sounds of little children to love forever and ever. Thank you for loving over 30+ children’s lives in 2023. I know God will bless for the goodness of your heart and love you are pouring out to His children. Yes I believe we are all children of God ❤! I pray wonderful blessings will be poured out upon you and Peter in 2024! Happy New Year 🎉🥳🎊

God is so good!! And He cares so much for these children. I'm raising boys that are not my own and if my home were any bigger at all I would definitely be a foster parent.

I was raised catholic, went to catholic school, read the bible multiple times. How do you deal with Bible stories like when God ordered a whole town wiped (newborns included) in 1 Samuel 15:3 or when he sent bears to kill 42 children in 2 Kings 2:24 just because they made fun of Elisha a grown men. And yet still believe he loves children, when the bible also says god doesnt change. Does he love children or just the children in the right towns who dont make mistakes? Or do you just not read the bible and only repeat the nice verses. Id honestly like to know what you tell yourself to make it ok. Cause for my peace of mind Id love to believe in heaven and seeing my dead relatives again but I cant get behind this god.

What a wonderful 17 year old you have, being willing to share Christmas at the last moment. The birth mom of foster baby relapsed right before Christmas so she’s had no contact. This birth mom has definitely tugged at my heartstrings. I want to see her succeed so bad. My foster baby is the sweetest boy. My province is desperate for foster parents. They are willing to pay foster families $500 for any person or couple that we recommend that ends up actually getting licensed. If you have ever thought of becoming a foster parent, just talk to someone. I promise you it’s worth it! ❤️ Happy New Year everyone!! 🎊🎊🎊

Love your content! Just wanted to let you know that “gyp” is considered an offensive term by the Roma people. I didn’t know that until I met someone who was Roma in college.

I love your videos! My husband and I want to do foster care but we both work full time and have 16 pets hahaha but I do believe someday when I’m older and already a mom I will love to help kids like you guys do.

🥰 love your desire to help kids! I believe all states offer free daycare to foster children! There are many full time working foster parents. And we’ve found that most foster kids really enjoy pets!! I am allergic to most animals, but kids always wish we had pets - so I’m sure most kids would love all your animals!

Sister in Christ you are amazing🎉 Extraordinary family ❤ It’s your time now 2024 take more focus on you cut stress so you can get try to get your own family now? This help shouldn’t take on your mental, physical, or emotional health. Nobody needs to feel manipulated be a system that takes and takes and always will need help. The merry go around never ends. Boundaries. You’ve done tremendous job and it’s perfectly healthy & loving to take a break even…It shouldn’t be a torture. We need our time and space…No questions or explanations needed. Rejuvenation it’s a very good thing! “Whatever your work is, do it gladly.” Col 3:23 So when things are not bringing joy it’s time to redirect…The last straw to me as viewer was those kids that were reunited before Xmas to me it sounded an abusive situation to the foster family and very toxic as well. They needed extra extra support that no normal functional foster family could provide to say it nicely. God supports you in whatever you need and decide. Don’t let nothing guilt trip you in doing anything…those feelings are not from God. I hope I make sense or a little bit and it’s not offensive. You guys are amazing! Lucky are those children to have you even if just for a little while you are making a huge difference into their lives.

Im asking sincerely not in a wise guy way.. Does this mean another foster family took the foster kids they had in their home already andd sent them away so they could have Christmas alone , then they take the foster kids back after christmas . Plus they collect the money for the kids .?!?!? My heart is broken .

I know I really didn’t explain how they ended up with us, but no that above scenario is not what happened. They were leaving one place before going to another and so we were actually considered a short term placement, not respite.
