Blocked care can happen for any parent, but seems to especially happen when there is blocked trust of a foster or adoptive child.
At the Filled 2024 conference, Melissa Corkum talked a little about her book "Reclaim Compassion" and gave 2 steps to overcome blocked care.
There is definitely a NEED in every state for foster parents. I hope this encourages you to take the first step to get licensed yourself or help a foster parent local to you :)

It seems like blocked care could have a lot of overlap with depression (or at least the symptoms can be very similar). I may be way off the mark with that, but either way I can relate to a lot of these challenges. I love the tips for overcoming, especially the lessons in liking-- I may challenge my husband to do that with me about our kids. Changing your viewpoint can be so so helpful, to be happier and to put your best foot forward. I'm trying to be the best mom I can be, and this helps a lot even though my kids are biological. You're doing amazing and I hope you know that. Hope all is well

It would be nice to share some of those things for the children to practice too, maybe create a little game for family night implementing them in the game, as I'm sure they too feel the same sometimes . This Video was so informative ! I have a lot of grandkids that stay often with me and sometimes I get overwhelmed and feel like I'm not giving each one their own special time.
