Absolute heaven! This is how I remember the line: semaphore signals, EP Brake stock, slam doors, and everyone knew each other, friendly waves at every station!! When I travel as a passenger now, I hardly recognise the line. Snodland and New Hythe boxes gone, Aylesford is now a mini-panel - and colour light signals throughout the branch now. I'm sure it's all more reliable now - but it's lost some its character. Driver says at Wateringbury "this is a great run - can't believe they pay me to do this!" - we all thought the same at some point!! Thanks for sharing, brought some happy memories to mind. No problem, I must have known him as I was at the same depot at this time & he mentions the names of 2 other drivers I knew who were on my shift.

The guards on this route normally did tickets so just stuck their heads out of the carriage and gave a wave😁

When it says whistle at the side of the track 5his driver should do but it shows just how useless he is by not doing it ?

There are certain hours of the day when they don't whistle, to avoid disturbing residents. I suspect this must have been filmed early on a summer morning, so it was in daylight but with no whistling at this time of day.
