Thank you very much for these videos! It helps with a clear understanding of WHY you do the movements you do, and what the natural sequence of them should look and feel like.

Yep! Top! Juste: il y a un bunkai qui m'étonne un peu: apres le yoko geri (droit), il y a un retournement avant le le shuto uke de l'autre coté (gauche) dans le kata... ?

The hit to the groin or the defense against the punch? Btw, I m really having a hard time fight against untrained boxers. They say no kicks and no fast finishes. Can u help
@alexhenke1979 Жыл бұрын
@@TopG20073 why spar against untrained boxers? Anyway, they have their own fighting system, which also works well on the street. A Karateka has versatility and potentially lethal techniques (throat punches etc. ) for worst case scenarios in a real fight for survival. Does not mix too well with friendly sparring in a boxing gym. Nonetheless I respect nearly all martial arts. If you want to test Karate vs other martial arts, do MMA. Unfortunately, modern Karate lost the training of grappling, throws and joint locks, although they are contained in the higher kata. A true pity, as karate is kind of the grandfather of MMA ;-)
@TopG20073 Жыл бұрын
@@alexhenke1979soo true, but even mma is too weak for real karate, we can’t do the lethal attacks you just mentioned + others.

God it drives me crazy why do all these people do karate wrong techniques would not work on a real opponent some of these could work but there not correct

My ex chief instructor used to teach stuff like this. Thankfully he didn't teach often. I blame tv, movies, and martial art organisations that have a hierarchy that is more revered than some religious sects
@stevewaters15163 жыл бұрын
face technique number one could of worked quite nice if he would used the square block to the outside of the attacking arm n also blocked with the raised right arm wich is the actual block the arm that he blocked with is the counter strike there deliverd simotaninsly the could of followed with the rest from the outside and that would of been way more effective

@@stevewaters1516 The guy in the video, both of them, are obviously very proficient, good technique, power and speed. I have no doubt if they found themselves in a situation in the street they would come out on top. But when, in the name of Popeye Doyle would anyone ever think of defending using the Heian Nidan "TV" block? You might find your arms in that position for a fraction of a second during a scuffle, perhaps more in some kind of grapple? But to actually intend to use it, as a block? If you consider the amount of different moves in katas, and then expect to pick move "56" at a certain situation, coupled with the stress and confusion of confrontation then that's something I'd like to see! I think it's more do the katas, don't think too much, stretch the muscles, tense them here and there, balance, basically aggressive yoga. It's good for old age and if you do find yourself in a fight situation, which is so rare as to be very unlikely ( as long as you stay away from night clubs, drugs and drink ) then, depending who you're up against, you will have a good advantage. If you intend to take up sport, competition, MMA, I advise, kickboxing, bjj and wrestling, as serious martial arts take too long ( unless you start at age 5-6 )
