I get it that some people might find this format annoying but that's actually the best type of video about photography I like to watch! Just because of the fact that we get to know how you work! Its also interesting to see how your method changes compared to other photographers! Kiss from Switzerland! (The country people usually mix with yours😂)

Thanks to you, I'm now always on the lookout for little critters. I actually captured a small beetle the other day, but it freaked me out when it started flying around my room. I had to release it onto the nearest tree. I didn't know they are sensitive to light; when I turned on the LED light, it moved away. I apologized after releasing it. 😋

Hey Micael, in my experience with mosquito repellent is that everything flees from me. I can't really get any good shots. I don't know if I'm just imagining it, but the attempts I made with it were all bad. Love this style of video. Nice to see someone else and his own technique.

You have a much steadier hand than I do. You say that it makes little difference having to use a slow shutter with flash. When I hold the camera with one hand and twist a branch with another and try to place exact manual focus on the tiny eye of an insect I tend to get motion blur on specular highlights from shiny parts of insects (ants really are highly polished). That ruins the image. I can live with specular dots but comma shaped bright lines will not do. With two hands on camera, I am more steady but, where I live, wind is a problem. Two hands on camera, one on light, one on branch. I am not an octopus.

@MicaelWidell Жыл бұрын
Yes you need to change a setting in the camera. In Sony it is called “setting effect: off” but it’s called other things in other cameras.

@Micael Widell on Photography thanks for replying ill have a look in my camera settings its the canon m50 im starting with .have you covered it in a video i could watch thanks.
@MorningDriftwood Жыл бұрын
At true macro magnifications, that is a very dark exposure. That's why flashguns are needed.
@kennyk4134 Жыл бұрын
@Morning Driftwood i have a flashgun its just hard to see as the screen is so dark at the low iso .
@MorningDriftwood Жыл бұрын
@@kennyk4134 I see, I thought you were getting dark images. In Sony, the screen automatically brightens up if a flashgun is equipped. Try looking for Canon users.

Why such a low shutterspeed with a flash?
@MicaelWidell Жыл бұрын
The flash will freeze the action anyway so shutter speed doesn't matter that much

Picaridin insect repellent; Won't melt plastic like Deet and less toxic. In addition, tight weave long clothing so repellent only needed on face and maybe hands.
