As an LAFC season ticket holder since 2019, it was amazing to see it live and the atmosphere inside that stadium was LOUD - haven't seen it like that since the MLS Cup final. Not the result I wanted, but I was on my feet and chanting the whole 90 minutes, having a good time. I got goosebumps after Miami's 2nd goal because its that connection that was built in Barcelona. It was definitely surreal. Miami was the better team and took out my team, the reigning MLS champs. Messi is my childhood idol, but LAFC is my team. I hope us and Miami meet again next season!

There were a lot of things to love about this game. 1. The ref made it known he would not tolerate pulling down the player with the ball. 2. Inter Miami gave the ball to Messi whenever they could. 3. Both teams came out guns a-blazing. It was an exhilarating game to watch and on par with watching a good football, hockey, or basketball match. THIS IS WHAT IS GOING TO BRING VIEWERS TO THE MLS. I liked that the shots on goal from Inter Miami were more composed and accurate from the last game with Nashville. Once again, Miller and Callender played amazingly well under a lot of pressure from LA. Miami looked like they understood when to take the shot and when to find Messi. And, the accuracy of the shots from Inter Miami, except for the one Yedlin took (Sorry, Yedlin, you are still a solid player!), was very well placed. Now, the corners, please better cover the opponents and clear the ball to one of your players instead of giving it right back to the other team. Oh, and I just remembered Aviles. He deserves praise for his tenacity and skill as a defender. Aviles, Miller, and Kryvtsov are creating quite the defensive line for Inter Miami. Farias made a very critical goal for Miami in this game; I hope he can continue improving his overall play and connect with Messi correctly. If Messi is open, pass it to him. That’s why he makes the big bucks!!! If you are alone and Messi is unavailable, take the shot accurately.
@benedictadeya837011 ай бұрын
Messi is the most effective player in the history of this sport. And by the way, if you want to make a list of the "greatest" aspects of football, You'd probably find Messi around the top 5 of all the lists. Its really unique. Those who watched Messi fully should count themselves lucky, and I mean including the haters. Through Messi, we were privileged to watch Maradona, Pelle, CR7, Zidane, R9, Beckham (you name it all)...all combined in one person. And I really really appreciate CR7 because I dont want to imagine what we could have witnessed with Messi alone. Dominance to the extent it would have been boring. But at the same time, CR7 benefited massively from Messi. With his ego and competitive nature, CR7 was lucky to have Messi because it stretched him to unimaginable limits. Since 2020 (coincidence exactly turn of the decade), it was enough is enough and Messi started stretching the gap and settling the debate. 3 years into it, its DONE. I 100% believe Messi could have been Messi without CR7..but CR7 needed Messi to get the monster out of him just with the thought of having somebody who is better than him through the eye test and also numbers. Of all those GOATs candidates, Messi would have washed them the first round by 2012. R9 is the only one person who could have challenged Messi toe to toe, but again ONLY if he was fit. Maradona would have probably never lasted in the professional life of an athlete today, modern society is too sensitive and harsh to people with his character.
@TheReeelBradPitt10 ай бұрын
I think Messi has always been the better player between Ronaldo and Messi, but I think the debate would still be going strong today if Ronaldo didn’t have a knee that gets worse with age. Cause if he didn’t he’d still be in the top 5 leagues probably as athletic as he was 5 years ago

Give him a couple of more games and he'll be on his game. He was good here in our league, which is FAR more competitive than the MLS is. The best part of that pass is his stopping and turn to left side, that makes a signal for Alba’run behind the defense. Passing and timing is not hard for Messi, all Messi need is his teammates understand his game. Normal or even great passers only make accurate passes, but not lead their teammates. Good or even best strikers mostly make a quick pass to right side and run fast to the box to get feeder. Messi is different!

Some people seeing Messi for the first time thinking he is amazing, he is 50% of what he used to be at Barcelona...
@Lucas_Tulic11 ай бұрын
And almost 20 years after his debut, he's still the undisputed GOAT. He's been the best player in the world for the last 17-18 years STRAIGHT!! Now, at 50% capacity, is still enough to be 10 times better than any player in the whole Concacaf region.

He can activate the bird eye (spatial awarness) just like Isagi Yoichi from the anime/manga Blue Lock, now I realized that ultimate skill was based on Messi's ability and vision on the pitch. 😅 Let's go Messi❤

Well, after almost 20 years playing football at the top level, and playing complete games without being substituted for almost 95% af all the 1000+ matches he's played, and being 36 years old, that was bound to happen! At this stage, he dosn't need to run full throttle like crazy like he used to do a decade ago. I get what you're saying, though...
@zack669011 ай бұрын
Bro he is 36 years old competing against people half is age 😅. Of course he’s lost his speed and somehow still makes magic, and at that is in contention for the balón d’or 😅.

36 years. Lost his speed but still is effective
@themastermind563811 ай бұрын
Like the other comments have said, he is 36 years old already. You can't expect Messi to be the same player he was 5-10 years ago. Father, time is undefeated. Saying this, though, Messi still has enough in the tank to create magic.

ESPN and the media should give CR7 more credit , Last year he scored 1 goal in 26 matches played with 14 full matches played and it was a penalty and won Bench D'Or . Season before that he scored 18 goals against Norwich City and Brentford with 0 goals 0 assists 0 chances created against Liverpool or Man city and won Garbage D'Or and he also assaulted a child with disability and won Criminal D'Or . Now he is busy blaming every teammate every coach from every club and country for his failure and won Failure D'Or as a penaldo fan my only option is to call everything "Rigged" with 0 legal documents and fake theories to create my own happiness .

“I firmly believe that if you put Lionel Messi on the worst team in Major League Soccer, they would still be the worst team in Major League Soccer" - a quote in 2014. Not only he made the worst team in MLS a good team, he made them the best team in MLS.

I have seen all Miami game. And in my observation Messi gave his 40% of his ability with Nasville MLS game. He is not giving more than 25% of his ability yet. Because he came Miami with a Vision. Copa America and World cup 2026. So he need a easier place to continue his game to keep fitness considering his age. If it’s not, he wouldn’t be here. Trust me i am with him from the first game he played in Barca. Though he is 36, he can able to destroy every MLS team single handedly. He is a very thinking and visionary person. He knows what he is doing and what he is after. I know many can disagree or argue about my thought. But i will request you to rethink and just recall the memories about his performance in wc 2022. He did it single handedly. Where? Which level? The greatest level of football. World Cup.
