Mr Butler, I grew up in the logging industry. I always figured it would be my career. Then one day I went and joined the Army. Figured I would pay my dues, give them 3 years and get back into it. 3 years turned into 22. Very very near the end I got in a fight with a parachute. After severa failedl surgeries, procedures and therapies I was medically retired. I still go out and oiddle around a bit on my property and occasionally can drop a tree or two here and there. I am now living my dream job vicariously through you and a few other select content providers. Thank you. Stay safe, never get complacent, and keep up the awesome work. PS, love the sweater.

Great video. I like the thumbnail too. Your chainsaw pants and boots look good in this video. I like how the pants don't come too far down your boots so they don't drag in the mud and get caught in the heel of your boots, but they're still far enough down to prevent all the sawdust from getting down into your boots. Great felling too.

How many hours do you put on your saw in a year? How often does it need a full rebuild? Enjoy your videos.
@BjarneButler3 жыл бұрын
No idea. Every faller has to show up to work(camp) with 2 saws minimum but usually it’s 3-4. And then they also have more saws at home. So your always switching saw throughput the year. If you run one saw for most of a year then you’ll get about a year before it starts to get tired. I don’t rebuild my saws anymore I’ll just buy a new saw. I’m not a saw guy that gushes over the newest saw thing. It’s just a tool. Although a modified saw is the way to go

Very nice job on a very Sketchy Tree buddy ! I have a lightning Struck Ponderosa that was hit last late summer and took the top out of it. But it's split in about 3 directions from what's left of the crown down to the ground ! I have to get it down and it's in a place where we can't get anything to insure it goes one direction (it's just about Straight up and down) the tree is about 3' across the stump we figure...I studied it several times going past it each day in to fall and then out again in the afternoon and I have what I think is a perdy good plan but there is that little bit in the back of your mind that says.....uh ...maybe.... If you know what I'm saying. We're going to video it just in case something goes wrong. It's not an option to just walk away from it either so it's gotta come down. I keep hoping mother Nature will bring it down in a wind one day but nope.....
