Thank you for sharing this very traumatic story. As winter expats in Nica, we were aware of what had happened to Harrison in a very general way and a bit about your health issues. The details you are adding are so moving and are evidence of what a strong woman you are. We can watch this often-horrific chapter of your life unfold only because we know Harrison did get released from jail and you are in Canada now. God bless you for sharing and may He help your family heal.

Prayers to you guys. We had a similar deal with my stepson in NIC. He would up 3 months in one of those crappy jails. He was innocent all along and the judge knew it but the DA had the power to hold him for 90 days. It was a mess and I feel your pain. I do wish you wouldn't even mention things that happened but you can't tell us what they are. That's kind of frustrating. Better to not even mention what you can't say anyway. God bless you. Glad it all history now.

Be aware that similar consequences can befall a person in the states. Vehicular manslaughter is the charge when a driver accidentally kills someone when the driver was determined to be at fault ( as in this case). The sentence for that is the states is a 15k fine and up to 7 years in jail. In addition, the victims family can also sue for as much money as you have. If this situation happened in the states, the consequences could have been just as severe (albeit different)

on a smaller scale, my neighbor in SJDS she was turning left in town and a motorcycle cut in front of her and she clipped him. It's very unlikely that they thought that your husband was being released. That was their excuse. But Nicaraguans would know better than that. And they would know that being released would not mean a transfer to the city holding cells, that makes no sense either. It sounds like they were attempting to manipulate the situation using that as an excuse.

As the story unfolds, it kind sounds like maybe.... this isn't actually the family and they are attempting to up the stakes. If they were the true family, wouldn't they be rushing to prove to the police that they really were so that they'd have leverage? Right now (in the story) their only "leverage" is making you panic, but the police and courts can't do anything on their behalf because they aren't yet filed as the family of the deceased party. It's still unofficial.

I’m ready to hear the rest. I’m also SO curious what the numbers are. I don’t know anything about the country or culture there so I have zero idea what kind of amounts could be being discussed. I’m so sorry yall had to go through this but I’m thankful that at least he’s out now and I hope y’all can move on from it. Thank you for sharing!

I'm glad she's not mentioning figures and how much they paid. Whatever numbers they come up with, there will be people saying "You should have paid more! Is that all a life is to you?" and have other people comment "You got taken! Why did you be so stupid to agree to pay that much?" It doesn't matter w-h-a-t the number was. Looking forward to Episode #5, hoping their pain will stop and this is the last episode, a final "number" will be reached...and I would have left that country as soon as I could as soon as my husband was out of jail too! What a nightmare!

Question, why don’t you just do a long video and finish the story?? In addition, I’m was born in Nicaragua and moved to USA when I was 6 years old. I don’t even go to Nicaragua for vacation. Such a scary place with the communist president and substandard medical care. Not a good place to invest any money in

Exactly my thoughts I am sympathetic to her but I also feel its a little carless to move to a country like this not understanding what all youre going to be volunerable to being Gringo in Central America where theres a travel advisory to visit let alone live 😬 theres a reason its so cheap to live there and its because most of the civilized world knows better 🤨

They moved there a couple years ago. There are lots of gringos that live there. It’s just certain situations the laws there suck and will take advantage of gringos they think have money because any country that is poor will have corrupt government. Look at our government in America. Look at our police. Look at our politicians. They ain’t no better they just have more money!!!

Geeze couldnt you just tell the whole story in 2 video the slow drip of a long drawn story is making me lose interest this is starting to get annoying at this point it will be 6 months and 99 videos in until we get the full story and im sorry but im just not that dedicated I wish you and your husband the best of luck

Do you understand it’s 2 months worth of a story? Who can do that in 2 20 minute videos? She’s also a content creator and needs to be paid for her story. If you don’t like it don’t listen. You are the only person I’ve seen complaining out of 4 videos!!! 😂

Allison - ignore this person. Tell your story at your own pace. Those who are invested in hearing about your experience will listen to it however you want to tell it regardless of the length. Personally, I prefer longer videos. I actually thought this video was a good amount of time and could’ve even been longer and I would have still appreciated any more details you were willing to provide. Thanks for sharing your experience!
