As a side to the main story here, it’s incredible how much stress can impact the human body. High cortisol levels from stress can and will wreak absolute havoc on a person. It can affect almost any system in the body and multiple body systems at a time. I feel like our healthcare system doesn’t advocate enough the importance of keeping stress levels down. You are a prime example.

I’m so grateful to people like you who are willing to share these important experiences. Thanks to your willingness to share there are millions of people who gain meme better informed decisions on how we spend our money and where we choose to vacation. The internet can be a scary place, especially when people leave comments that are negative or worse but those are the people who try to silence us for their own personal gain. They win when we get scared off and thus critical information sharing ceases. The good that you are doing is tremendously helpful and an act of humanity in its best form. I thank you for that and your bravery to help pass on accurate information.

This is so upsetting that your husband was placed in jail for an accident he didn’t cause. I can’t believe how the decedent family expected your family to pay for the motorcyclist carelessness.

I was watching your videos from beginning to end and I feel sad about everything that happened. In our country, Nicaragua, the authorities are very incompetent, and not only with foreigners, but also with nationals.😢

There is a lot of corruption, accidents are frequent, there is no road safety education, and people do not like to educate themselves, the same thing always happens and all because of driving at high speed and drunk.

I’m all about seeking professional help/therapy but you were right. There was nothing a psychiatrist could tell you to help you cope with your husband being in jail. They would just have to medicate your anxiety. That comes with all kinds of SE that would have been compounded on top of your UC symptoms. Edit- I would like to hear more about your ileostomy surgery.

Remicade takes time. It's a harsh medication I was very sick with infections all the time, and it takes a lot by time to work and Didn't do much for me and infusions suck too. If you were in Canada there would have been other meds to try to save the colon, humira, xeljanz, meds that would have been covered as well and that sucks so bad this happened there and these options weren't available there. I've heard you need the meds even with the j pouch. I'm another Canadian mom with UC and I'm not feeling too good at the moment either. Not on meds at the moment I think sending the kids home was a hard decision but probably for the best.

It’s so wild how healthcare works in other countries. I live in the USA and it is not like that at all. They treat you either way. My husband is from India and my mother in law was critically ill and same thing - No payment = no care. My husband had to make daily payments and extra for procedures. Americans don’t realize how good we have it. The last thing you want when you are that sick is to be worrying about payments every single day.

Of course they want you to see a psychiatrist because life happens and your mentally unstable right? I hate that word psychiatrist. Also, when given medication and anesthesia you wake up in shambles! I had a colonoscopy and wasn’t out to sleep but was given a good dose of mediation…. I was happy as a bird but that was just my reaction to the meds.
