How interesting - the unit I received (that didn’t work), also had a popped out screen that I needed to pop back in I’m waiting for a replacement (it’s being shipped atm) the one I had wasn’t recognized by my computer as plugged in

Portable displays larger than 16-inchs usually require more power than what the USB-C port on the laptop/computer can provide -- which is usually around 15W but such bigger portable displays usually need something higher.
@BoroCG2 ай бұрын
Yep, thanks for the details on that! It works great with one type c for me, haven't had to use the second cable for my needs yet. It's cool to have this option, I remember it just wasn't available on bigger displays before

i bought an xp pen deco pro xlw gen 2 just a couple of days ago (they really gotta work on their names XD). i bought this one because my old wacom suddenly stopped working and I didn't have enough money to buy an I pad with an apple pencil. i also don't really need a built in display. all that being said, this is by far the best drawing tablet I've ever tried. i literally cannot believe how amazing it feels to draw on this thing. i like to be gestural in my drawings and this xl size work area definitely allows that. moreover, the pen feels amazing while drawing. not exactly like paper but comparable and no less enjoyable. i am having some problems with the Bluetooth connections though. might try changing the drivers and see if that helps after I'm done with my current project.

seems cool. I remember dreaming about devices like this back in say 2007. And now that we're pretty much here, I'm nitpicking too much on features. crazy.

Has anyone else encountered a problem with XP PEN's artist pro 16 (gen2) where no matter what color profile or how you edit the colors, it's always a little REDDISH tinted? It's been driving me crazy all year. All blues are a little purplish tinted and i'm constantly having to send screenshots to myself to view on my iphone because it's the most color accurate thing there is (i dont have those special little. color calibration things. too expensive)

Watching this right after "This Is Why Your Drawing Setup Sucks." (4 year old video) is kinda funny, since the message in that video was that drawing displays are dumb.
@BoroCGАй бұрын
Yep, I still believe everything I said back then, and I only had to double down on that in the recent sculpting video: won't try to draw while looking down on the drawing screen for more than 30 minutes. Basically, the drawing display to me is just a second display with a screen-less tablet built in, to draw on it while looking at the main display. More on that in the upcoming vid

Ironically I was gifted a brand new $2500 24" Wacom Display three years ago from my wife for Christmas and before I could even enjoy it, the buttons at the top right were messed up and the casing was not sealed such that the buttons were sticking. $2500 for THAT!!!!???!!! No way! I packed it all up and when my wife asked if I wanted to exchange it I said NO WAY. They just proved to me what I already knew. Most folks don't mention that Wacom manufactures their Cintiques in China so that high and mighty stance that they take is not necessarily always warranted. All this to say that they make mistakes too! You just pay twice as much for their miscues. I have settled on my Dell 27" Canvas for now. I'm close to jumping back in for a smaller display and these newer gen XP Pens are really piquing my interest. For tablets, I'm likely going to jump at the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10 Ultra 14.6" and see how that works out for my mobile solution.

In general, it's a great and affordable pen display. I own one it I bought in september. Pleased til now. Pros: manageable size, good etched glass, powered by only one cable usb C and driver working fine til now in my MacBook Pro. The pens accuracy its good, no complaints. Cons: slim pencil needs a serious redesign: they must improve grip(I use little adhesive bandage near the tip to improve that) and, above all: It offer a felt nibs spare parts options. The another one pencil in the box needs also a redesign: make the roll button also a pressing button not only a roller. Until then, it's better the normal pencil one(not supplied with this tablet but affordable to buy apart) paired with the wireless unit to zoom in/out and so on. (and, mentioning the wireless unit: it needs more weight or some kind of magnetic attachment to the pen display)
