My Dr. says after AGGA phase I'll need braces to close the AGGA gaps. But I wonder if it might be better to get implants instead to close the gaps. Braces cost $6,500 and I read 2 implants is about $6,000. So about the same cost as braces, plus done in one day instead of wearing braces for a couple years, and may have other advantages over braces. What do you think?

You make a great point. I think if you have achieved adequate growth with AGGA and dont need the controlled arch braces to "widen", then its definitely something to discuss with your doctor

I have AGGA and asked my dentist about this. He said that CAB (controlled arch braces) really help continue the forward growth as well as expand the width. I guess it depends on your situation.

I'm really interested in this treatment. Unfortunately here where I live in Europe it isn't really a well know procedure. It sucks because the only orthodontist that does AGGA and DNA appliance is a 4 hour drive away. Can I ask how many times you go for a visit? Because I don't know if a 4HOUR! drive is reasonable. My dentist says otherwise I would be directed to a jaw surgeon. Thanks

Heidelberg? I'm thinking of moving there from the U.K. for this treatment. If it was only a 4 hour drive I'd be months into treatment by now.

@@5a0ie yes I do mean that! How did you know? Haha. So that 4 hour drive is worth it you say? I read that appointments are only every 2-3 months so I think thats reasonable.

Because it's the only provider I found in Europe, appointments are every 6 weeks. I can't say weather it is worth it or not to you, knowing neither your case nor how effective it will be for you personally. There are a few videos popping up now, so I'd recommend doing your research online first.

@@5a0ie Yeah Ill definitely do more research. I'm going to ask my dentist about it and maybe he knows what's best. So far that I've seen this treatment would be able to the problems that I have. But again it just sucks that its not that well known in Europe.

Hey Marice! I think each AGGA provider is different in terms of appointment scheduling. Personally I see my dentist once every month.

Thank you for sharing your journey! I was wondering where you rest your tongue and where you press when swallowing. Is it placed right before the AGGA pad, or do you press against the AGGA when swallowing?
@omzhealing42534 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment. I try and place the tip of my tongue against the acrylic pad at all times (even during swallowing).
