2 more runs of the MXAD drill

3 more runs today at lunch doing the MXAD drill from @xray.alpha.llc. Super happy with two clean runs from concealment. Last one was a 2.29. I’ll take it.

One of the things that occurs to me as I watch this is that people who are very experienced at this kind of fast and close pistol work aren't faster just because they've learned to go faster... they have also learned to hide their target transition time behind their recovery time. Others, who are maybe less experienced, or who maybe only have access to indoor ranges with restrictive rulesets, tend to fire X number of shots, each followed by recovery, and then make their transition _after_ the last recovery. This runs two processes in series which could be run in parallel. In this dude's case, his transition time isn't really any slower than his time between shots, because he doesn't wait around to recover before he's moving to the next target. He's doing both at the same time. This makes me wonder if psychologically programming some idea of "follow-through" as the last part of a shot, rather than the first part of the next one, isn't an inferior method of training. If we conceptualize follow-through as target acquisition for the next shot, people might have an easier time getting their brains to do this.

Obviously not Scott speaking here, so take it for what you will: Pros: Great stock trigger, the optic plate program through Walther is a huge plus, you can configure the pistol in a lot of different ways (full size, compact, long slide, 15rd frame, 17rd frame), the after market support from companies like PMM is great and the gun is reliable. Cons: This pistol is light for its size and felt recoil impulse is noticeable (to me) compared to others in its class, stock sights suck but they are Glock profile and easily replaced.
