We really like Klein Tools® adjustable 8-in-1 Stubby Screwdriver and the Malco combo nut drivers. The Malco tools come in short and medium-length quick-change shafts. The nut drivers have a different size on each end and are color-coded so after a bit of use, a quick glance will tell you what size to get ready. The nut driver ends are pulled off over a ball and detent, reversed, and pressed back in place. The shaft fits standard quick-change chucks found on many cordless drill units. They are nicely finished and look like they'll last a long time.
The 8-in-1 Stubby Screwdriver is well thought through with a bit carousel built into the handle. The overall length of the driver can be set at 3 different lengths, thanks to a spring-loaded sleeve and a series of detents on the driver shaft. The shaft can be removed entirely and another driver shaft, such as the Malco® nut drivers, can be inserted.

Malco® tools are available from many appliance repair and parts houses, as well as from major home improvement chains such as Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware, and Menard's. They offer many configurations and handle setups.

Have you tried the Klein Flip Socket set? It has a longer shaft (impact rated) with a longer handle and can store the 3 flippable sockets with six sizes on the shaft.

The only downside to the stubby is the bits are shorter than standard so you're stuck with the bits supplied.
