Just because a person with no arms can learn to swim extremely well (and better than me) doesn't mean that swimming with no arms isn't harder than swimming with arms. Comparing two GC's against each other will always be an even match up, because they're both the same rank, regardless of whether they're controller or not. Can you compete against controller players using touch? Of course, but that doesn't mean that controllers don't have an advantage over touch. The primary advantage of using a controller is superior control using the joystick and the ability to have your finger on multiple controls simultaneously without the need to move them around (like on touch). Great video though Mogz, love your content as always!

Sure controller is easier. No matter what button layout you use on touch, you're still losing vision. The ability to simply see the whole screen can be a major factor. The OP made some great points as well, having all the buttons conveniently laid out on controller must be easier than using touchscreen. It's as very similar argument with fps games.

Thanks for continuing to make so much sideswipe content. I mean, honestly sometimes this game feels like it has a dead community. But whenever I jump into the game, matchmaking barely takes a few seconds and there are always skillful players to play against in every rank. That being said, the devs can do so much more with this game but they have not yet done so maybe because they have not found a good way to monetise it yet.

To be honest I'd consider this a tie just for the plain fact both players knew the game really well, and both almost tied if it wasn't for overtime. This just proves that it doesn't matter what setup you use to play a game as long as you can do the same thing you can on each setup.

Tbh Justin was in an attacking form with so many unique perfect legendary moves which requires a lot of skill and control over the device while elanz was mostly in a defensive position with less moves so he merely took good use of the chance. So this fact and the fact that their skills might be different and so might be their devices. So this cannot be concluded cuz it changes from person to person merely due to their perspective, play style and skills.

I think a better way to test touch vs controller would be to have people try mechanics on one control scheme and then switch to the other. Like have touch players try mechanics and then switch to controller and controller players try, then switch to touch. I'd be especially interested to see this at different ranks

The learning curve is bigger with the controller. Controller players would find it easier to use touch.

@@awesomnality with the default controller layout, maybe, but you can remap your buttons to whatever you want, so there should be no difference in the learning curve. I would argue the learning curve is bigger on touch because of the way that the control stick is never in the same place. I can't count how many times in game that I've tried to point my touch control stick in a direction but my car doesn't move that way because the stick was out of place on the screen from where I had placed my thumb to start

@@dhbroad as someone who started with touch then got a controller it was much harder to get used to the controller, mind you I have only played with a controller occasionally so I’m not used to it at all. Also about the buttons and the controls, you can change it for touch as well. There is joystick anchor and static option. Never had a direction problem on touch.

Well done Danz 👌🏽 Btw: its not „touch vs controller“ but more what are you used to and on what device are you playing. If you are used to a controller cause you have a console then youll be better on controller but if you never played on controller than touch is the way to go. Also if you play on a device thats not really powerful then you will have a bad gaming experience and this makes your gameplay suck.

The biggest difference between controller and touch is the control stick. On touch, the control stick is never in the same spot since the center jumps to where you put your thumb down, so it's harder to always point your car in the exact direction you want to aim. This makes things like air dribbling, and making slight adjustments to your car during stalls, and even pointing your car for red shots harder. It's not as evident for higher ranked or more experienced players on touch who learn how to always lift their thumb between stick movements, but it makes a big difference for lower ranked/less experienced players who don't know how to readjust their thumb every movement on touch. I learned on touch and got used to it and am now comfortably diamond 3 without grinding or playing with a teammate, and i can switch over to controller and it feels slightly better hitting advanced mechanics. My brother learned on controller and is still only in silver, but can't play well on touch, however, when we play together, he can score on Diamonds and Champs because he can point his car exactly where he wants it to go and just boots in the air and red shots right at the goal

Pretty sure you can set the stick to sit in a static location.

@@keenanmoore264 There is a "static joystick" option, but when you go to use it, if your thumb lands even slightly out of the circle, it doesn't register as you trying to move the stick that way, so that means you can never let your thumb leave the screen if you want to 100% always have it register. I reached out to the devs previously for them to add an addition option on static joystick for it to register touches outside of the stick circle, but they essentially said they've tested static joystick with play testers, and are fine with the way it is. So then if you're not using "static joystick", wherever you put your thumb down on the screen becomes the center of the stick, so all directions become relative to that center and as you're sliding your thumb around, you have no reference for how far you've moved your thumb from that center besides intuition, so you either have to be super aware of it, or lift your thumb up entirely and reset the center so you know when you put your thumb back down and swipe in a direction, your movement will be what you expect.

if they are, its very minor lag, as they live in the same region. Neither of them complained about the lag.. and the person who recorded it had a ping of about 100ish, which explained some of the lag in the gameplay.
