I love my Raider, small tank and all. There's a fabricator that modifies the tank for an extra gallon and it looks great. And a set of waterproof soft bags can easily be attached and removed without any issues. For all the little things that you would add to the Raider, still falls short in cost vs value against a Harley Davidson. If you go the Harley Bagger route you spend much more money on a slower bike. And Japanese companies have been making much better quality motorcycle than Harley Davidson has for decades before, and at a quarter of the price. I understand the American Traditions of the MC lifestyle and all the jazz, but I like good engineering more than a cool American badge. I need Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Kawasaki to start making Big Badass Cruisers again so I can buy those instead.

I agree, I have a 2012 Yamaha Raider S and have added quick disconnect leather looking plastic saddle bags and I added grips, pegs, a removeable back rest, mirrors, and a direct connection to the battery to charge, jump, or have a USB charger plugged in to keep my cellphone charging as I drive because I use my cell as my google maps and Spotify music to my helmet. I LOVE my Raider. Price per specs, looks, and Yamaha dependability.

Great vid. I own a 2015 raider bullet cowl edition. Tank is 4.2 =16 liters. The 210 rear tire is stock. I upgraded to the 240 rear. It raises the bike a bit and cushions the bumps. The suspension is stiff naturally, not cuz its lowered. The bigger rear tire make the bike feel like a whole new bike, better leaning n turning, because the rim pinches the tire n make it more rounded. Get ivans flash to help wit fuel. This is my 1st cruiser. People always say "which harley is that" to me.

I have an 08 Raider....I love my bike !!!!! Something is wrong, I can go almost 175 miles on my Raider. I agree, most people think its a Harley. I think Raiders are a better bike than a Harley. Yamaha 1900 motors have been known to run 175,000 miles with no rebuild. V-Rod is a nice bike. Trying to find one that has not been abused is the problem. Everyone runs the shit out of them...sad. I wish I could find a decent V Rod...!!! Good luck !!

i jusst took mine from washington state too maine. added saddle bags and a small memphis shades windshield to it was fine on that trip. no issues what so ever i trusted it more than i trusted any harley i have ever owned. was thru nasty raind and thunderstromes. never missed a beat thru all the heat in the midwest was fine. di stop and have the oil changed in mn. because of the heat and when i go to maine had it changed again,. these bikes require more oil changes than a harley. but will give you years of goood service a total of 4 oil changes on the trip. and my 69 yr ikd back is not in pain. was a fun trip even tho i did it solo. i do not know anyone who could or would make that trip . i really wanted to see how it compared to my harleys hands down a better bike

Rear tire 210 is wider than stock? maybe i heard wrong lol either way sharp bike. Fuel range is 130-150 miles 41 MPG 4.3 Galons, V- Rod is a different category of bike and is way faster more in the line of the M109r sport cruiser and more agresive riding style.

How does this compare to the Suzuki m109r or the 2014 Honda valkyrie in terms of comfort and performance?
@lmErnest7 ай бұрын
Both of those bikes I would think are faster a little bit. Comfort, I wouldn't know,but the Radier is very comfortable. The Radiers short fall, in my opinion is range, not great for touring. But the bike is built well and more of a cruiser then those other bikes.
@sandeepramlakshmanan36467 ай бұрын
@@lmErnest oh. I am not worried about touring as I have other bikes for it. I am more looking for a muscle cruiser and was not sure. Yamaha Vmax was my first choice but it is hard to find. Thanks. I am seeing a lot of raiders though.

It's a solid bike for sure
@sandeepramlakshmanan36467 ай бұрын
@@lmErnest that is good to know. None of these bikes have abs which is strange. I am definitely looking for a power cruiser and looks like it may fit the bill. Huge motor compared to valkyrie as well as the m109r.

Too funny hearing the recorder vs new owner bickering about flaws and going back n forth. 😅 but I love my 16 Raider S and for my first bike I love it. I get at least 120 miles but that is still good. Best I got was 38 mpg. Nice bike. Don’t sell it

How big is the gas tank?
@lmErnest2 жыл бұрын
I believe 3.5 gallons
@M35RaideR2 жыл бұрын
It is 4.1 gallons. try not to let it get low enough to trigger the low fuel light though, the reserve (light comes on) means the fuel is low enough it will begin exposing the tank with the fuel pump in it which is plastic - increases heat and could lead to cracking the plastic tank which means it's new fuel pump time unless you want to try to seal that tank. I've had mine for years and love it.
