This might be unrelated to what is being discussed here but I need to tell this, Nepali teachers aren’t there to educate or help you. Period. Over the last 20 years, I only stumbled upon perhaps 5 teachers who were really good at their job or loved what they did. Rest were there just to pass by. They don’t care ! And for someone like me an average guy or a guy who had to be explained maybe more than once or twice, the so called teachers basically drain out our spirit over the years. I feel lucky that I was able to pull myself out of that hole, and rise above the mediocrity, or at-least I would like to believe that I am pulling myself out, continually trying. Some teachers in our case are the reason why some of the people I knew as a kid could never build up their confidence. Up until that’s not sorted nothing is going to change in our ecosystem, people need to be educated not sorted based on their intelligence. I found good teachers in my colleagues and friends and family, for others School is the place where they lost all their confidence. Up until that... mediocre will only yield mediocrity!!!

That’s true inhuman teachers generally do not encourage average and below average students. Rather they try to down spirit of those student with their unequal bahaviour. I have seen few friends who had to face this. One of them changed school and luckily she recieved better treatment there and also performed better.

Education system in Nepal is a mess. We are not given enough time to figure out what major to choose. First 1 year after high school should be a time to figure out, instead students go through immense pressure to make a decision. My personal story, i went to one of the prestige college in Nepal, My sister came an year later to join the same college. She wanted to study Science, she did OK in SLC (65%), during her entrance exam, the principle told her to study Commerce instead of Science because she had a low score in SLC. Thank god she did not listen to him and instead went to another college.
