Actually, it's way more common then you'd think! I've seen quite a number of Indians who speak almost perfect English, though they have been living their entire life in India. I think it's just that the way Indians are presented in mass media makes us think most of them have a thick accent (not that it can't be true though, just saying my opinion).

Using vague or far-off phrases or too much idioms doesn't help us improve scores, does it? This video helps me a lot and I need to draw my path, practice more and more. Those would be thoroughly deserved accomplishments.
