I appreciate how Spud translates military language and takes the time to explain what it means.

I just got Spud's audiobook, on Audible, and it is very well articulated by non-other than Spud himself. I really hope Spud narrates all of his books moving forward.

Yes it was certainly different , apparently the tasking was for 45 Cdo ,but H Jones voiced his views and was then given the task of Goose Green . I met some of the guys after the conflict whilst touring the country , even survived a run ashore with the lads in Aldershot !! Although there is always banter between the guys , there is always respect . Thanks for the interview .

Terminal Velocity. Great book. Spud says how it is. Speaks boundaries when he came back from the falklands and went straight back on selection again after injuring himself in the trees. Epitome of a Parachute Regiment soldier.

Crazy to think we're as far away in time from the Falklands war now as we were from WW2 at the time of the Falklands war.

Another very interesting story. Updated July 2022. Half way through reading this book. All I will say is that if you haven’t read it then you need to put it on your list of books to read. Such a well written book that I find very easy to read and try to understand what happened.

Nice one Chris, this stuff needs to be told and the perspective needs to be shared - I was a little lad when this happened, but it resonated with me then and even more so now. Still makes me proud that we had the people and the resources to get the job done - no mean feat even by todays standards.

Same as me Danny I was only ,4/5 years old when this war kicked off but I can remember my parents watching the footage coming back from the Falklands at the time. Too me then it was just another war miles away, but remember my dad saying too me " son this is our soldiers, our boys fighting, not some foreign war.

Well put, narratives have changed! East Timor some NZ units ditched the 556 Styre, pulled out old 762 SLRs as the heavier round got better penetration in the jungle areas.
