Agreed that Monster Manual is underrated. Had one run with a Tech X Forgotten and Monster Manual gave me Twisted Pair in The Void. Safe to say that the run was won.

Mega maw has probably the biggest jump in difficulty between his champion forms: The spider version and to some extend the regular version are extremely easy, meanwhile the red champion version is legit harder than like blue baby

One time I found a Red Key on the first floor in a Curse Room, and I got 2 special rooms with it, both of which happened to be planetariums. I have never been that lucky in this game before.

When you are about to clear a room, exit and enter the run. This keeps all coins you picked up and respawns enemies.

If i ever randomly get guillotine during a run, it's almost certainly going to be a restart for me. Certain high tier items will convince me to keep going, but it is among my most hated items. I'm impressed you picked it up on purpose!

Data Miner can be nasty, there is a bug were it gives you a negative integer fire rate when you use it so the game just sets it to 120 instead

A novice player here with some questions, 1. What is stop watch and why is it so good? 2. How do you unlock telescope lens (trinket for another planetarium)?

stop watch slows down enemies to 80% of their regular speed and can stack with the slow effect, going down to 41% telescope lens is automatically unlocked when you get planetariums, being acquiring three stars related items in a single run.

I hate guillotine enough that i used the rules mod to replace it everywhere it spawns with Scissors. Before that i genuinely restarted every run where i'd picked it up as a blind item.

Monster Manual is nice but suffers from being unreliable, and in 'bad' pools. If you get it in a library, the chances are there's a better book there (Satanic bibble for example), and if you get it in a devil deal it's not really worth the heart or locking in DD precedent if you're thinking of going angel.
