Hey Chet, you might not see this but I was advised from John Deere to run at higher gear with your revs sitting around 1700 rpm’s, it’s better for torque for the tractor. And it’s also quieter in the cab.

Thanks for the video. This was a very interesting video with you setting the planter. Your new tractor seems to be real nice unit. From what you showed us in the video the planter settings are close to what you want. I think the hole outfit is real sweet. Nice tractor and planter overhaul have made the ticket. Would love a couple of rounds in that outfit. All of you have done a super job in getting ready for spring and things working as advertised. Super job. Thanks to Nicole for editing. Sending prayers to Nicole always. Trust you are doing ok and feeling better. We always think of you. May god watch over you. Thanks everyone. Iowa farm boy from years ago.

My dream planter to build would be on a 120' Bauer Bar, strip that thing down bare, put some Exact Emerge row units set up on 20" centers, make it a twin row (twin row 20's actually are a thing on DB60'S), extend the wings that fold up and down to the full length of the planter minus the center section and beef up the hydraulics that operate it, where the liquid tank would normally go (we don't use it being organic) mount a strong combine engine that powers hydro's, that power the tracks under the center section. THEN create a roller crimper with delta force also that has a frame that goes up and over the planter to a connecting point on the planter. I can't even count how many row units you'd have to buy, but I figure it would take a combined horsepower of close to 2000 to plant into standing covers, and roll / crimp it at the same time. Might as well make it mostly autonomous and create a docking station for a gator so you can get out and monitor the performance on the ground, then get back in the channel as you see fit. Hell, build two of them so one operator can work them both at once.

Interesting, I farm about 5600 acres in Saskatchewan,Ca. I grow cereal... Now yesterday at minus 08 degrees Celsius,I drove a down a 567 acres of Durham. And I used the Fendt 1050 triple wheel. And we use a Bougault drill.... That being said, I see ya. But that John Deere isn’t your enemy. We, have 13 tractors and planters running at all times.
