This ipad makes perfect sense to me as a musician. I don't need the latest tech in screens, I don't need a keyboard (for live gigs) or a pencil, it is powerful enough, and the screen size is a joy. The USB port is faster than i need to record and i never use the rear camera. Not everything is Video Editing or coding

This iPad is the perfect option for artists!! Personally, the investment of an iPadpro+ Apple pencil was far too expensive, so this new option, compatible with the Pencil pro and with the Education discounts is an amazing quality-prize option! It’s perfect as a first iPad for any artist without a big budget tbh, you get the newest features, updates plus the pencils pressure sensitivity, haptic response and barrel roll, All this without adding that the multitask options make it super easy to do homework or attend online classes, the gaming quality is good and the battery holds 3-4 full hours of video conference with Bluetooth headphones and the Apple pencil attatched… I don’t like 2nd hand devices either, so it really feels like I bought just last year’s Pro with an amazing price point… writing from my 1 month-old iPad air M2, I really reccomend!!!

I don’t get why people struggle with the 13” iPad Air, it’s Pro-lite at an affordable price. For me it was far more attractive than its Pro M4 cousin, and does everything I need it to. The screen size and M2 chip made it a no brainer for me. The Apple Pencil Pro was a bonus, although living in the UK, sadly we don’t get a power brick (even though we pay more for the device!).

I traded in my beloved iPad mini 5 for the M2 11" iPad Air with no regrets. I wanted a bigger iPad with a laminated display. I purchased from Apple education store with a trade in and was able to get the base model for less that $400 with tax. Not everyone needs a iPad Pro. I had my mini for 5 years and definitely plan to keep the Air for much longer than that.

Recently upgraded from the first gen iPad Pro to the 13 iPad Air. I’ve increased the resolution and used mine mainly for Lightroom. It’s a brighter screen than my old tablet. Is blazing fast and has all that extra real estate, I love it. I’m now ordering the pencil pro for painting etc. I didn’t immediately notice the lack of pro-motion. But then I don’t spend my time flicking the pages back and forward to try and spot the difference. So another £400 for the pro has no real benefit for me. Additionally, I’m not spending over a thousand pounds on the iPad Air because I don’t need a keyboard, also currently the cheapest iPad Pro M1 12.9” in the UK from Apple is £1369!

It is great for sustainability and even though I am upgrading from my 5 year old come January iPad Pro it is still a wonderful iPad just ready for a little more speed, Apple Pencil pro, and the battery life is just now getting a little inconvenient (maybe 5 hours of medium run time on low brightness). I have to say I love getting new products but just the “new” part is what most people are after. However, most people will use a product 2-3 years before upgrading unfortunately and for them it is better to get a preowned iPad (apple certified refurbished) and then when a necessary upgrade use as a trade in.

While I have a Mac Mini, the 13" iPad is an essential step in the progress to using iOS devices as my only computers. I have a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard so that my hardware at least is as good or better than any MacBook. If only iPadOS could get some proper support the iPad would be perfect for me. iPadOS desperately needs the Files app to be at the same standard as the macOS Finder and having an alternative backup method to iCloud would be great. I know people like to recommend used a lot when talking about this product. But simply put used is a gamble, there’s a reason why it’s cheap. You have no idea how people treat their products. You don’t know if it was secretly dunked in water for a minute but seems to be working fine. Refurb is a better alternative. But for something brand new? The iPad Air M2 is a great buy and a significant discount from the m4 iPad pros. Especially for someone who wants the larger screen size. The m2 iPad Air is a great product. The used market doesn’t change that.

I traded in my iPad Air 4th generation using Apple trade-in for an iPad Air M2. Price, with tax, now less than 400.00. Absolutely no reason to add Apple’s case/keyboard at well over 200 when I can get something very similar for less than 60.00. Apple Pencil? Meh. Sure, I might have been able to get a better after market price for my 4th gen., but considering I work 40+ hours a week and deal with aging in-laws, walking into an Apple store and taking care of EVERYTHING except the case from Amazon was a no-brainer. Very, very seldom does the average consumer HAVE to purchase the top of the line anything.

As a musician using my iPad Pro mainly for reading sheet music, the 13" Air is perfect for me. Sure 120Hz would be nice, and the quad speakers are great but as an upgrade from my 2015 12.9" iPad Pro this is what I've been waiting for. Longer battery and a bit less weight is more valuable to me over the nicer "Pro" features. As a teacher I'm hoping for Apple's back to school deal to include £100 gift card and I'll be able to get the base 13" iPad Air and Pencil Pro all in for only £768 instead of £928 which would be sick! 🤞

I’m definitely one of those people that’s not interested in the used market when it comes to the iPad or any Apple product because I was burnt with the iPhone 5c and I won’t go that rude again and also the M2 iPad Air is more than powerful enough for my needs which will probably be video editing and obviously maybe using it as a monitor for my switch so that I can record short gameplay clips I mean it’s going to be a game changer for me as upgrading from my current iPad, which is the 9th generation iPad. I by the way your advice is terrible because the iPad Air M2 is my father best iPad for most people I mean other than the promotion 120 Hz display, a used iPad Pro wouldn’t make any sense especially as you’re pretty much essentially getting an iPad Pro with the new iPad Air and you don’t know what you’re gonna really get with the market because a lot of these sellers of used iPads and what not lie about it and what about Apple? You can’t use AppleCare with a used or refurbished iPad, this was more over an opinion rather than actually giving advice.

In my opinion, a lot of iPad users out there would benefit greatly buying the new iPad Air over used and refurbished, mainly because you never know what you’re getting with used and refurbished isn’t a guarantee also, even though it’s a much better option but also you can’t get Apple Care on anything used or refurnished so that alone should deter most users, unless they need a pro version and those users usually already know what they need.
