Thank you so much 😊. Hand basting is the key. Takes a while longer but it’s so worth it.

I love watching you work with chiffon and make beautiful tops with it. Here we would need exactly 0 tops in chiffon. I exaggerate, maybe 2 days a year, in the summer during the heat of the day. Voile would be about the lightest fabric I would use for a summer top. So I will enjoy watching you make this one.

I understand. I used to live in New Zealand and even in the summer it was cold. With 18 I’d be inside the ocean lol. Now I’m making the things I always wanted to make.

Karina what are you doing to me?! I looked up one of your Rhapsody blouse videos because I wanted to replace a facing one a blouse with binding. Ended up putting my pattern away and downloaded the Rhapsody from Love Notions (using your affiliate link of course - thank you!). You are so very inspirational and I love your attention to detail. I have been sewing for a king time but have learned so much from you. Love and best wishes for 2021 from England x

I bought the pattern and just finished this yesterday. It was my first time working with a chiffon type fabric. Your blog post was very helpful! It was much easier than I expected. However, making the bias binding was very time consuming. I applaud your patience! The blouse turned out very nice! Thanks for bringing us all of these makes as it is really helpful and makes me willing to try new things.

Bias tape is Tim’s consuming for sure but it’s worth it because it’s so pretty. I think not every male should be fast fast. The chiffon ones are extra special. I’m glad my post was helpful.

Love your tops! I was in Spotlight and purchased a bunch of chiffon type fabric from the sale table! You’ve inspired me to maybe use it on the rhapsody top! I don’t think I’ve ever sewn with this fabric but it’s pretty.

Both of your Rhapsody blouses and the dress are gorgeous, Karina! Your blog post was excellent with great tips for sewing with slippery fabric. Hand basting is time consuming but I actually enjoy it and the finished results are well worth it. I've purchased the pattern using your affiliate link and plan to make this blouse with a lovely lightweight fabric that has been in my stash for years.:)

I don’t mind hand basting at all. It’s relaxing, as you say and knowing it’ll make a huge difference, I do it gladly. Thank you so much.

Karina, I am sure you have made Love Notions very proud. Love your fabric choices. I have made this pattern also but the garment was scoffed up by my sons friend. I have yet to sew another but plan to soon. Thanks for all your videos you are inspiring!

Hi Karina! I just realized that I had some chiffon & thought I would give it a go after watching your video & reading the Love Notions blog you made. This is my 6th Rhapsody but my 1st one in chiffon! I made my own bias tape & it was a bit fiddly to draw those lines but I did it. I'm using the flutter sleeve on mine & have already made a narrow hem on them. If I have enough bias tape, I think I'll hem the bottom with that too. Thank you for writing the blog as well as this video!! I wasn't sure that I would have been able to tackle this without your help ❤️

Do you have a tutorial hoeing how you make your bias binding with the chiffon? I would love to see that.
@LiftingPinsandNeedles5 жыл бұрын
It’s the same as making bias tape with any fabric. The only difference is that I sprayed it soaking wet with starch spray before passing it through the bias tape maker. That’s it :)
@jaclynmoylan19055 жыл бұрын
Lifting Pins and Needles ahhhh yes good starch is a lifesaver. I’m a quilter and so I keep tons of starch on hand. And now that you said that I think I remember you mentioning that in a previous video.
@audrey85305 жыл бұрын
All of the blouses are beautiful. The way you used the ombre border print was inspirational. On the sleeveless versions, it looks like the front armhole is a bit wide (extends past the arm crease). I think I might find that irritating.
@LiftingPinsandNeedles5 жыл бұрын
Thank you. It’s hard to find ombré prints like that. The armcyse being wider is noticeable on the red one because I didn’t trim the seam allowance to put the binding in a visible way. The grey dress is further into the armcyse because I bound the armcyse traditionally into the garment... so there it scoops in. In any case, the shape can be modified slightly. My preference is not to have my armpit showing ever. Thank you for watching 😊

Do you have a video that deals with pre-washing and drying of delicate fabrics like chiffon or silk or rayon?
@sew_So_beautiful4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I know this is an older post but hopefully you see this and can answer my question anyway. My question is about using chiffon fabric in general. I tried taking in a chiffon top that was too big for me and the seam pulled like it was getting gathered. Why is that? I used a 2.5 stitch length. Was that too big or is there other reasons that might happen? I don't want to try making something in chiffon until I know what I'm doing wrong.
