I love the organization you have created in your sewing space. I have to organize my sewing space before I start a project. Otherwise I wind up not finding the things I need for the project and spending more time looking for things then actually sewing.

I have unbleached muslin and I was told it was 60 inches, when I got it home it was 36 inches wide, I am making a nightgown. Can I cut the bottom part of the gown cross grain?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles4 сағат бұрын
Sure, just make sure to wash it twice. A nightgown will be a loose fit so it’s all ok

Good video with lots of tips for sewing with wool. Thank you. I want to make a chore jacket out of wool but I’m not sure what I should use for a muslin as before I invest in the 100% boiled wool, would like to test the pattern first. Do you have any suggestions what fabric to use for muslin?

How about a fleece blanket. That would mimic the thickness :)

Great video as always I never contemplated the Whistler but after seeing your sleeveless version I was inspired to pick it up today discount sale I also already the Ladera dress and tempo (must have bought it on discount). The tempo I always expected to make for my g'daughter's or daughter's someday, much more their style than mine and I got the add-on sleeve, again not expecting to use it for myself (those pouffy sleeves... Mehhhh) but your version inspired me to dig around in my stash. And the Ladera again, only bought discounted (one of those "you never know someday pattern purchase???!!!), but your shirt version got me digging around inmy stash as well. Thanks for your inspiration🤔

Dear Karina: I have access to clappers I could purchase.... But I decided to simply go to the hardware store and purchase a 1x 3 x 20 piece of oak instead. It's small enough for me to handle while pressing and long enough to press pants and longer seams better than I could with the regular size traditional clapper. It's just a piece of board so it's stable and lightweight. Maybe you'd consider doing this?

@@vasquk no. I can’t give out measurements of patterns. That’s copyrighted. Plus, the sizes will be different and this is not a rectangle.

As I was watching, I kept thinking about why you didn't have the Ladera dress on the list. But it was in your top 2! I was reluctant to buy it at the price, but the notion kept nagging me, so I broke down and bought it last Fall. I am so glad I did. It was a slow sew, which I totally enjoyed. I made the long sleeved dress, which fit beautifully. Your idea of turning it into a top is brilliant, and I'm anxious to get started and make a top of my own. Thank you for the great videos and inspiration.

I found your channel by searching for a tutorial for the Love Me Balloon Sleeve blouse by Pattern Emporium.. This blouse will be my first attempt at sewing one from a pattern, I have sewn a couple of dresses and skirts so far.. I have sewn mostly home decor items over my lifetime of sewing but since I had to stop working due to Fibro 10 years ago I have started to sew again, but now I want to sew clothing.. I have an older model early 90’s Singer machine but want to upgrade and after a lot of research I have one of two I mind.. Either a Babylock Presto 2 or a Janome 4120 QDC-G.. What are your thoughts on these machines? And which brand would you prefer? Thank You, any help would be appreciated.. Love your channel❣️❤️

Thank you for your body positivity, Karina. I'm turning to sewing because i struggle so much with RTW clothes not fitting well. Your emphasis that everyone's body is different, your willingness to put on a "ninja outfit", you measuring without revealing all your numbers, and you talking about different adjustments certain body shapes might need, all contributes to me feeling a bit better about pulling out the tape measure. You have a new, fun shaped, subscriber. 🇨🇦
