Any day the sun is shining in Scotland is a day to be celebrated, and I do not see a cloud in the sky. No such luck as a tourist in the summer. Cool rainy and gloomy the year I visited. Like summer in San Fransisco in the 80's before climate changed. Wonderful ceremony and tradition , and oh the pipes, the pipes. Thank you all for your service.

@@JimRamsayJWR Happy New Year, Jim. You're quite the cinematographer. Well balanced with CU's LS's . Your sound is tops, too. Quite a feat to get it that good when you're sprinting down the street, whilst trying to keep everything in focus, and maintain those unwavering framed shots. Of course a lot has to do with the great subject matter. Nothing comes close to a company of Highlanders jauntily swinging along a highway, the steady rhythmic snap of boots, in concert with the thud of Bass, and skirl of pipes. Och Aye.

Интересно, сколько минут эти ряженые простоят в прямом боестолкновении с русской армией?
@theoraclerules50563 жыл бұрын
@ Elena Simonova: Well! Funny you should ask that question actually! The last time the 93rd Highlanders (Argyle & Sutherland’s) faced off & defeated Russian Cavalry (Mainly Cossacks) was at the Battle of Balaclava, during the Crimean War on the 24/October/1854! This was when around 500 Of these Scots Highlanders (Infantry) effectively held their position to successfully prevent a similar number of Russian horsemen breaking through the British lines to capture their rear positions there. The action was & still is known famously in British Military History as the “Thin Red Line!” During this action numerous Victoria Crosses were awarded to the 93rd Regiment of Foot (These were incidently, also amongst the very first ever of these such medals to be awarded!), the Sutherland Highlanders! As today, as also in Victorian Times, the Highlanders & the Guards, & the Connaught Rangers, along with the Rifle Brigade, the Light Infantry Regiments were some of the finest, most-gallant & accomplished soldiers of entire British Army! If you doubt the veracity or accuracy of anything I have stated here, then please check out their enemies’ histories & reports about them or their valiant deeds in numerous battles & wars, to prove my case here!!
