2 SGC Submission Reveals! Is the $9 grading special worth it???

I like sgc for vintage baseball just not a huge fan of them for modern unless they want to go back to $8 a card.

That’s a great point and something I didn’t cover in the video. SGC is the king of vintage.

@@thehobbyphd my experience with SGC is that if a card gets a 10, it is seriously a 10 there's no doubts about it because of the option to give it the 9.5. I think that's why SGC has a lower gem mint rate than PSA for every single era of cards that is listed in the gem rate data every month. There's lots of cards that just have something small wrong with them that don't deserve a 10, but also don't deserve to get knocked down to a 9. For my beloved junk wax, I view a 9.5 basically the same as a 10, because I know how little it took to knock it down that ½ grade. Lol, just how I see it.

@@thecardclosetcanada5443 I wish more people viewed a 9.5 rating like you do. I think they are great cards. I have a beautiful Yordan relic I love. If grading companies would be more transparent, and articulate why a grade was given, it would be a massive improvement. Right now, "10", "gem", "9.5", "9", etc. are all just opinions without crystal clear metrics and anchored rating scales. I'm working on a video right now on how human bias can influence the grading process. Stay tuned!

i sent out 6 chrome cards to sgc. its my first time sending cards on my own, at $9 i had to test it out just to get my feet wet with the whole process. should be back sometime this week.

That’s tough. I FEEL like PSA grades easier but my gem rate is probably about the same between the two.
