Nice. I've started learning the simpler cases/angles from Sarah cubing, but this is a very helpful alternate way to think about some of these cases. In particular one major difference is in your cases you don't check if the corners on both faces are opposites, which can help you ID opposite corner swaps fast.
@MOGCubing3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that is a good trick. I probably should have included it. Truthfully, I didn't come up with this. I found a pdf that was really helpful. I thought the community would really benefit from a video version of this pdf.

2 side PLL recognition question. Guys I have observed something interesting that has not been addressed by Sarah Strong/Joseph Skyler etc. the R, G and V PLLs all share a 2 block and an attaching 3 piece chequerboard pattern. At the end of the 3 chequerboard pattern there are 3 options. Bookends and 1) a pair of opposites - G perm 2) a pair of adjacent colors - R perm or no bookends - V perm. I think it’s a fast recognition technique, Any downsides that I'm missing?
@MOGCubing Жыл бұрын
interesting. since i switched to roux i dont know what the regular recognition method is for these but the one you suggested seems pretty good

There's still like 4-6 cases where I can't tell which G it is or which J it is.. and I don't see the explanation in the video or the pdf. what am i not seeing?
@MOGCubing2 жыл бұрын
For the Js it's pretty intuitive, you just know which one goes which way. for the Gs I think there is a tip for that at the end of the video.
@shaunzhang7333 жыл бұрын
Actually, it is even better to execute the PLL without thinking of what subcategory the PLL is in. Subcategory means that one type of PLL is split into two or more cases, this includes A perm, G perm, R perm, N perm, U perm, J perm. For me, once I know it is a G perm, I usually don't think whether it is Ga or Gc, or Gb or Gd. If I know that a G perm has to be Gb or Gd, I would just figure out where the headlight or the 1x2 bar (1x2 block) is, then I AUF (if I need to) and do the alg, this can save me quite a bit of time in solving the cube. If I think of the PLL subcategory, then it would look like this. There is a pair of headlight with opposite edge colour, it has to be Gb or Gd perm. Is this a Gb or Gd perm? The adjacent side of the headlights has opposite corner and edge colour further away from the headlight (same opposite colour as the headlights), this must be a Gd perm. Where is the 1x2 bar? It must be opposite to the headlights, the corner of the 1x2 bar must be towards me when the headlights is on the left. If I refrain from thinking of what PLL subcategory it is in, it would look like this. There is a pair of headlight with opposite edge colour, it has to be Gb or Gd perm. Where is the 1x2 bar? It must be opposite the headlights, but which direction does it go? The adjacent side of the headlight has opposite corner and edge colour away from the headlight (same opposite colour as the headlights), the 1x2 bar must be close to the opposite corner and edge colour. Then I would just perform the alg (AUF if necessary), thinking like this, if the 1x2 bar is pointing this way, do this alg, if the 1x2 bar is pointing the other way, do the other alg. Some people might say: 'you might make mistakes if you always do it like this'. But once you get used to doing this, you will most likely not make mistakes at all.
@MOGCubing3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I understand. This seems the same as what I explained
@shaunzhang7333 жыл бұрын
@@MOGCubing i mean that if I know the PLL has to be a Gb or Gd, I would just figure out where the beadlights or the 1x2 bar is, then do the alg without thinking of whether it is Gb or Gd (AUF if necessary). Not to mention R perm deserves a mention here as well. At this moment I kind of forgotten how to tell whether an R perm is Ra or Rb perm (I can go and search this later), but I can still do the algorithm correctly anyway as long as I know it is R perm. Of course, this could also lead to another topic, doing PLL without thinking of what subcategory the PLL is in, or, doing PLL based on where the property of the PLL (such as headlights, 1x2 bars) is.
@Arti-iz5ep3 жыл бұрын
9:13 how can I now what G perm it is exactly?

I think I tell you how to know where the blocks are, and if you know where the blocks and headlights are then you can know what GPerm it is right?
