i use a cheap self inflating mat. worth its weight in gold for that extra comfort it provides to us over 60's. thanks for the videos, i enjoy watching, and always learn/pick up ideas, Cheers guys.

A great mat (I use mine twice every week, year round), a super design, neat and low-profile but...they require a raised bed of tree branches in Winter to maintain any heat what so ever (here in central Sweden) and the truth be told...I have slept on more comfortable things than these. I do love mine but am going to give a new (modified) Z-lite a whirl as Fall comes upon us...I'm not as young as I used to be and the mountain near the city where I make my camp is literally just a pile of boulders and I'm hoping the Z-lite will give my auld spine a bit more respite.

Did u use them solely year round in the marines and now? cus my son was in paras and said lot of them used the German mats year round

Probably about 1, less than 2 for sure.
