RK3 Designs is a learning studio focused on teaching how to create beautiful epoxy finishes using Stone Coat Countertop Epoxy. These tutorials include epoxy countertops for kitchens, bathrooms, and much more. This channel provides tutorials for DIYers, contractors, designers, or artists.
Rhonda Dracoulis Founder and Primary Instructor
RK3 Designs started as a way for Rhonda to showcase her creativity but has blossomed into a way to help others find theirs. Her obsession with painting led her to start refinishing furniture and kitchen cabinets. She found customers wanted a nicer option than laminate but more affordable and customizable than natural stone, which lead her to countertop epoxy! Since then, she’s helped thousands of students, from across the country (and even Canada eh?).

White with black and beige lines side by side. Would you do it? The colors in my kitchen are black floor, vintage 1950’s chocolate brown and light coffee (gradient) stove and oven, white cabinets with freshly painted pewter brick outlining the cabinets. My countertops are prepped with primer and a white undercoat. There is an silver protective edging on the countertops that actually look vintage cool. I could pull it off but… The rest of the room have almond walls. It’s an open concept. It sounds odd but it works. So I don’t have to replace the stove in the oven I wanted to bring that chocolate beige and slight black into a white countertop just to pull it all together. I would love it if you could create something like that. not sure if I gave you a well explained vision. Girl, you’ve got me crazy wanting to change my career. And I work in a spa!

@@SatinSkies2011 that sounds like a cool color recipe! I think by brining in all the color you want, a melded marble technique would be awesome. If you want more of a striated design, I would use a large squeegee to create very soft striated lines. You can tape over the silver trim and once the epoxy has thickened up a bit you could pull the tape then clean it up with isopropyl alcohol. I think the mixtures of the earth tone browns and the white would be nice. I would just do black as accents so it doesn’t overpower your design. Hope that made sense. 😳. I would love if you joined our Facebook insiders group, RK3 Designs Epoxy Insiders. We would love to see your projects!! 🥰

you demonstrate such gorgeous things, but I would like to ask you, when the resin is completely solidified, you polish and if you show or write please?
@RK3Designs

Thank you. Our final video shots are when the epoxy is almost cure and no longer moving. After it’s completely cured, we will apply a clear flood coat and then the Ultimate Top Coat. No need to polish. 😊

I like the hand method of smoothing it out. It also prevents bristle hairs from getting in there. Gorgeous! Very restrained look.

You mentioned doing an inverse color on an island vs a countertop. Have you ever done the inverse color on drawer fronts and cabinet doors? How about doing an inverse color on an island that has drawers and cabinet doors?
@ToddBizCoach
@ToddBizCoach 3 жыл бұрын
Great teaching technique. I love the results. The more ideas you suggest , inverse colors on island for example, the more it broadens the possibilities to what someone can do for projects with epoxy resin. You could be the “Martha Stewart” of epoxy resin!
