Bad Chad

Bad Chad

28 күн бұрын

We pieced together a custom exhaust using some elbows Nathan brought down with some of the tubing we picked up from Jim a while back. Once we tackled that, we dumped some water in the radiator to test it for leaks. This was the first time running the engine with the radiator plumbed up... and it failed ❌️

That's why you send old radiators to a Radiator Shop, so they boil them clean and pressure test them, so your anti freeze don't wind up on the floor. And you could have gotten the bottom neck replaced with a straight inlet. Just an old Retired 47 year Mechanic opinion.

@steves2241

@@briancoetzee339 And he claims to do things the cheap way so he saves money. But time is money, so look at all the time he spent putting it on the car, then all the time to take it off the car, then the money to get it fixed, then all the time to put it back on the car. If he had just checked it for leaks before putting it on the car the first time he would have saved all that time. So he will probably spnd 3 times more doing it his way, then if he had just tested it before putting it on the car. How many times does he rush through something, only to find out it was wrong, or he did not measure it right. Then he has to do it a 2nd or 3rd time, before he gets it right. And that cost more money than taking your time and doing it right the first time. I watch every day, and I love Chad and Jolene, but it drives me crazy when he rushes through something and gets it wrong, then he has to do it over. Not to mention, sometimes when you make something yourself it takes a long time, and that ends up costing you more than if you just bought one. If Chad's time is worth $300 an hour, and he builds something that takes him an hour, when you can buy the part for $150, then he spent $150 more for it by making it himself.

I'm almost retired so I'm still working currently but if I had the extra money that I can live on and not worry about being paid I was definitely lend a hand and my expertise and this old car stuff. I'm referring to the fact the way you guys ran the plug wires. That's driving me nuts. Those ram horn engines had special wires that clipped to the block and ran to the back side up to the distributor makes it look a lot neater and they don't get burned up. Other than that you guys are great. Keep up the good work.

I'm in two minds about expensive workshop equipment, nice to see things being built without equipment that your average person can't afford even at secondhand prices, just to show it's possible, after all machinery is just there to speed the build process up, mind you it's one thing having an English wheel and another struggling on the floor with an angle grinder.

If so isn't that going to rotate the light making the top of the bulb at an angle instead of straight up and down. I saw Chad was very careful with welding the insert to make sure the bulb was straight up and down.
