Took my 2 Stroke to a new track and had a great time with friends. I'm kind of a wuss when it comes to learning new motocross tracks and new jumps, but I had a lot of fun conquering some fears and can't wait to go back! Thanks for watching.

This was EPIC because it was relatable. Not to to everyone, but a lot of people are nervous hitting jumps for the first time. And learning ruts at first are intimidating. Then when you grease a new jump or nail a rut, it gets you so HYPE. LOVED THIS VID

Love the video. Consistant smooth throttle up and off the faces will keep the front and rear wheel from diving. Also up shift on ur approach. Of ur at the top of the gear before ur on the face, anytime you let off its almost the same effect as braking up the face which will suck. In the higher gear you can let off the throttle a little and use your momentum which keeps the bike balanced.

Hey dude, loving the videos, can’t wait to get back into mx myself. I hope you don’t mind a few suggestions, no shade dude. Just trying to help. The following will help on any 2 stroke: I recommend getting used to riding in a higher gear. Not for higher speed, just for better control. Higher gears aren’t only for high speeds, they have another important purpose in mx. 2 strokes, especially the more powerful modern ones have a habit of revving too high off of jumps and whoops which throws up the front end. So if you hit every jump 1 gear higher than you think you need, it will handle like butter across the whole track and is actually much safer. Shifting up well before most jumps will also ensure that the power band doesn’t suddenly increase in power, then sharply decrease, which will often happen on the jump face before takeoff, which actually affects how the suspension will load before a jump and make hitting jumps somewhat unpredictable. A sudden increase in power will send the front up, a sudden decrease will send the front down, and most 2 strokes have a sharp change in power at the top of the powerband which can make jumping them difficult. This can be seen on a dyno chart. So really, being closer to the middle of the powerband all the time is typically a good option. (Just don’t shift up 10ft before takeoff which can cause the bike to suddenly slow down. Try to shift up before the jump face) . One other thing to keep in mind is that 2 strokes have very slight, although important engine braking. Going from the top end and chopping the throttle will slow you down enough to affect your jump. Chopping the throttle from the middle of the power band doesn’t have as strong of an affect, so it’s overall just more forgiving. Being in a higher gear in my opinion is the single most important thing in this sport that is very underestimated because it changes how the bike handles nearly everywhere. And a smoother bike actually allows you to maintain good , neutral body position at takeoff and while in the air, which gives much better control when hitting jumps, and makes the bike easier to predict at takeoff. This way, you won’t have to try to lean forward or back too much and try to guess how the bike will arc through the air. For comparison, Chad reed sometimes hits supercross whoops in 5th gear on a factory 450. Not for speed, for control. Being in a higher gear also prevents the tires spinning in corners, which actually helps a lot when cornering. It will feel slower at first because often times it feels better to be in the top of the power band, although carrying speed in a higher gear makes a smoother ride, and actually helps with overall speed and safety. You’ll get used to it and incorporate it into your riding style if you choose to ride in this way. Smoothness is more vital than sheer power in mx. And if you’re worried about carbon buildup, you can always change the jetting or fuel oil mix to help with this. People say to ride 2 strokes at the top of the powerband, although please trust me here. 2 strokes work so much better if you shift up. Not necessarily for speed, just for much better control overall. Another tip is to look into getting tubeless tires and run a slightly lower psi on the rear wheel, helps a lot with grip in the corners. Wouldn’t recommend dropping the psi too much in the front tire though, so it will still handle predictably. Ps: You can still pin it everywhere which is always fun, just try to shift before reaching the top of the powerband.

As an older fella whose moto prime is coming up on 30 years ago, I can offer you one tip to improve your cornering speed that was passed to me by an old pro: Visualize your line ONE FOOT(12inches) to the inside of the rut or lip of the berm. Come in with speed, get on the gas before the apex and look around the corner to where you want to exit and beyond. You will drift out to the lip at the apex while on the gas. I just noticed you rolling all the way out to the edge of the berm, turning, and then gassing it and thought you would appreciate this. It helped me big time with cornering speed. Moto on! :)

The best tip I have for cornering (by no means am I a pro I’m literally a b-class rider), is to look at the corner just enough to get your front wheel into it, and then don’t look at it at all. Just get your front wheel into it and look ahead as you would do in general.

Nice. Love the video. I’m nervous bout hitting jumps. Could you do a video while riding and jumping jumps but also explain what you have to do to hit jumps.

The most humbling part of being at the track: Warming up and finally starting to rip it, feeling good (going fast in my head).... then getting smoked by some shredders hahahah.... Anyways, quality content! Please post more
