i love it. half the size and same power. no valves to wear out or adjust. a marvel of engineering. in a really hot climate there would be almost no smoke.

Could you pls share a bit more info on it, since i got (almost) the same one in my grandpas garage (if its not the same i prob got the next model, I recognize it by the injector on top and the fuel line on the side) I was told when a little kid its a 2 stroke :D

Thanks for sharing.I'm just wondering how the lubrication system works?I'm familiar with detroit style engines that have a sump full of oil but this one uses crank case scavenging so it's air is drawn through the crank case.I guess the lubrication oil is building up in the case causing the engine to bolt occasion?

Oil is pumped in the case by a small piston pump and when air is drawn through the case, it spreads the oil over all the components.

narc1s m. Thanks, now I understand how it works & why it bolts occasuonally as you mentioned in your earlier replies. This style of 2 stroke diesel is rare, perhaps that lube system is why? You are lucky to have it.

Most likely, the pressure builds up in the crankcase so it needs a much studerier bottom end, most 2 strokes are like that and that's why they last longer than all this over complex wet sump 4 stroke crap that we have to deal with.

Its just a regular planin jain crankcase scavenged 2 stroke, Deutz, Sachs, JLO and Stihle made these. There are some Hatz 2 stroke conversions out there.

Im looking at a 3 cyl duetz 2 stroke diesel with separate oil tank. Its on a generator and has stuck oil injection feed pump which can be fixed, its got a 2 gallon separate oil tank and poppet valved loop scavenged. i hope to buy it off the guy and get her running as its a nice air cooled 2 stroke if he will let it go! Are parts still available for these 2 strokes gals?

Tjis 2 stroke flat all scares me. Its like a lightning strike or a plasma loop on the sun. This 2 stroke is a small terrestrial copy of our sun!

This is ttumps reallity 2 stroke this 2 stroke is readability and this fictitious wet sump garbage, get over this the new hydrogen fired 2 stroke which is american case false reality! nothing runs hotter than a true crankcase scavenged 2 stroke except this diesel, snowmobiles, lightning and the sun!

How is this engine cooled? I did not see water hooked up to it, nor any cooling fins. Do you know the name of this, so I can try to find one?

+Brian Hollinger It's cooled by that belt driven turbine in front of the engine. You can't see the cooling fins because the cylinder has a metal shroud around it. I don't know the name, all I know is that it was built in the former Czechoslovakia around the 1960's.

It uses the crankcase so no blower is needed.

@@CameraPonselChannel Yeah and the oil is pumped from the reservoir on the bottom and pushed to the main and rod bushings bearings, then some slings off and burns up. My silver 8v92 turbo has a big gear VRO pump off the crankshaft and the 2 stroke oil is pushed around the bottom, but some go by the ports and blower and some burns off 2. @@CameraPonselChannel There are cranbkcase pressurized 2 stroke diesels you can find, one is Deutz, JLO, and the old field marshal tractor that was single cylinder and over 260 cubic inch, You can make one out of a yanmar or hatz by fillong the crancasse with aluminum, put runner ducts to ports you cut in cylinder and use the oil pump to tcw3 oil in to the bearings! Fairbanks Morse model 32 was a huge crankcase pressured 2 stroke about 2100 CID power cylinder, dry sump the bushings oil and burns it up.

Yep, it's safer to rev those engines high cause they don't have push rods, valves and other moving components that the 4 stroke has. This one survived many out of control revs (when it starts to burn oil) and usually, if it starts slow, it's gonna run on oil for a moment so, we gotta be prepared to cover the intake in case of a runaway.
