One tip from people building scale models is putting down a splotch or two of hairspray before painting. That way, it'll peel right off and look properly weathered.

Also Vaseline. I know when they try to make a WWII warplane look like the pilots have been walking on the wing to enter the cockpit they place vaseline over the primer coat and then paint. The paint comes off those spots and shows just the primer. Brilliant. Sometimes I have seen salt being used to cause interesting weathered effects. Lots of tricks to try.

I don't know how you guys did it. You've somehow made a Harley an even worse noise polluter than they usually are. I'm seriously impressed, but I also feel sorry for anyone you ride past on the road.
@mozer302 жыл бұрын
I think it would benefit from a slightly larger rear sprocket on the back, or drop a tooth on the front to compensate for the larger rear wheel diameter on the Harley. Yes I know it’s a 2 stroke, but it would help it pull through lower rpm into the powerband. At the moment it just bogs too much as the gearing is too tall, and (no offence) it’s carrying a larger passenger 😂 Jetting will also be an issue as you’ve changed the filter style. 2 stroke dirt bikes are highly susceptible to even small modifications, atmospheric and altitude changes, so you have to jet/tune to suit.

@tylerseabook94232 жыл бұрын
That’s 100% false. Yes they work better with up-and-down throttle like a motocross race but with proper gearing would not affect it one bit.🤦♂️

I felt bad for putting a kawasaki engine in that AMF HD. But being an old school bike guy you gave it a new lease on life. I remember those old Harleys and they were totally gutless from the onset. Nice build guys. Keep them coming. As for making it road legal, that engine does not have a charging system for a battery. Also that little 2 stroke is not made for sustained engine rpm going down the road. It is made for motorcross that is always on and off the throttle. Just something to think about.
@darrenmobley60002 жыл бұрын
They do make upgrades for the charging system. Enough to run a small headlight and taillight. Don’t remember exact wattage it puts out. But definitely doable.
