@@Koremel1 me? It definitely wasn't me cuz I'm actually someone who quite like Spino lmaooo Edit: yeah I must say Spinosaurus is even a bit underrated nowadays, to be fair it does have a pretty decent bite force (much stronger than Allosaurus and even Saurophaganax), and also the most massive claws you can find on a carnivorous dinosaur, generally pretty versatile (thriving on both land and in water), it's also surprisingly fast for its size (top speed is estimated to be 24.85 mph), faster than another similarly large predator, like the Carcharodontosaurus for instance (top speed: 20 mph). In addition, Spino's intelligence is also quite high among the dinosaurs. So all in all, Spinosaurus is definitely a force to be reckoned with to say the least.

This is SO much better than something like Jurassic Fight Club or Animal Face-Off. It uses the hypothetical face-off as an excuse to study and educate us about both dinosaurs' nature and biomechanics, instead of using the paleodocumentary format as an excuse for a mindless, over-dramatized gore-fest of a fight, and unlike it and Animal Face-Off, it actually takes a more realistic approach and doesn't pretend like it needs to crown a definitive champion by the end, like if two species squared off one would inherently have to be the superior species and inevitably come out on top, instead it acknowledges that the two animals could very well be evenly-match and the outcome of any individual fight would a case-by-case scenario. And unlike Jurassic Fight Club, they have the fights fit in line with the specific fossils they are based on instead of completing contradicting themselves later on.

This is actually one of the better videos about T-rex vs Triceratops. Almost every other one makes it out to be some drawn out brawl, but realistically it would have been a one-hit KO either way. Also T-rex probably wouldn't even risk attacking a full grown Triceratops. Most large prdators today are very cautious. Throughout the cretaceous, you can observe tyrannosaurs, and you can observe ceratopsians. From their earliest, smaller ancestors, you can see them evolve larger body sizes and more lethal weapons over millennia. Everywhere you look, there were tyrannosaurs living in the northern hemisphere. Along side them, were equally matched ceratopsians. To say that these animals were perfectly matched was an understatement. They were always in competition against each other. They were quite literally made for each other. I can't imagine any other creatures as perfect for each other as these two are. Evolution is truly an amazing force.

This is actually a very realistic outcome to a hunt. In most cases, Tyrannosaurus would avoid herbivores like Triceratops and Ankylosaurus because of how dangerous they were to take on alone, opting instead to hunt unarmored herbivores like Edmontosaurus. I'm not saying T. rex couldn't hunt down a Triceratops if it opted to; just that it wasn't the memetic, almighty killing machine fanboys make it out to be. It's just an animal.
@friendlyneighborhoodkelbea72583 жыл бұрын
Edmontosaurus would still be dangerous prey, it had the size and mass to take a stand against the T.rex, a large, stiff tail that could be used as a weapon, plus it lived in herds of thousands. Like all predators, T.rex would go for the weak and stay away from the adults.

@rhey812 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Growing up they always showed T-Rex's going up against Tri-tops or members of its genealogy tree in fights and most of the time the T-Rex would win. Aesthetically attractive of a fight this looks like, I'm pretty sure in the real life back then it didn't happen as often we'd think. I mean look at today's predators.. Say millions of years from now when we're gone and fossils of Lions and Rhinos are discovered together all the sudden those from the future would think those two species partook in epic battles for survival. When in reality you basically never see the two get into it. The lions know the risk, and they don't put their lives at risk for a meal if they don't have too.. Most predators are like that, why would the T-Rex be any different??? How fun would your daily life be like if you had to risk your life for breakfast everyday? Wouldn't you prefer less risk?

this is a very good presentation. in any such encounter between a dangerous predator and an equally dangerous prey, the predator has to rely on a stealthy approach and surprise for success. if detected by the prey too soon, as in the show, the advantage changes fast.

the only way a T Rex can kill Triceratops is to attack it without it noticing
@leeroyaflac57268 жыл бұрын
true
@paulom34987 жыл бұрын
*+SeanTheGreat708 Only way? T.rex has a powerful and sturdier skull than the steel with its monstrous jaws of more than 1 meter and with curved and serrated teeth of 30 cm with its bite power of 6 tons of pressure, capable of tearing the flesh and grinding bones.* *T-rex was more agile, intelligent, resistant and also had a better view, so he would attack first (anyway).*
@paulom34987 жыл бұрын
*+SeanTheGreat708 T.rex being much larger and more muscular would have much more force than Triceratops, T.rex could break their 2 horns as well as could grab their horn and leave it in lateral position to bite their neck.*
@jessegamboa40117 жыл бұрын
still you have to admit a triceratops would most likely win.
@paulom34987 жыл бұрын
*+Jesse Gamboa No, Trice was slow, less intelligent, and even smaller, his horns could be broken by T.rexes, probably the one who would win would be Rex.*

I don't require big details, but Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex lived in different chalk.

First dinosaur video ive ever seen when the herbivore finally won. I dont understand why people always make rex win when one stab from Triceratops' horns would be instant death.
@simonpitt81455 жыл бұрын
Exactly, well said. The t rex had no armour so why so many people believe it would have been impervious to four foot long horns is beyond me.
@sebastianvidalon55564 жыл бұрын
Yeah and most herbs we’re faster or had armor or stuff like horns spike tails they make the herbivores die in one bite but The carnivores always seem to be invincible

T-Rex often had a mate and they hunted together. The first one would destract Triceratops and the secund one (most likely the male) would ambush from behind with a first and final blow.

@andrefabri61914 жыл бұрын
@@jasonvoorhees5180 yes we do. Close relatives hunt in family packs, so T-rex most likely would too
@jasonvoorhees51804 жыл бұрын
André Fabri Except we don’t have definitive evidence that it’s relatives hunted in family packs either. Finding the bones of multiple individuals in the same area can have multiple explanations for it and isn’t concrete indication they hunted/lived as a group (depending on the geologic site). Even if we entertained the argument that certain other members of its taxonomic family (tyrannosauridae) were social it’s not evidence for T.rex _itself_ boasting such a behavioral repertoire. I’m not saying such behavior isn’t a possibility for some tyrannosaurids, because it certainly is I’m just saying we’re by no means sure.
@ayyyndrew-u3 жыл бұрын
Triceratops wasn’t just food for Trex, they were a legitimate threat to them, a threat that could potentially be life ending.

The reason why in pop culture and other things has Tyrannosaurus winning, because there are more people who like tyrannosaurus more than triceratops. Although that is just a theory I made. Also if you are fossil hunting for tyrannosaurus then you would most likely find more skeletons of tyrannosaurus than triceratops. This means that there were lots of tyrannosaurus, and the tyrannosaurus died a lot from triceratops, ankylosaurus, other tyrannosaurus, illness, old age, or malnutrition. This also means that triceratops at least I think won most of the time.
@poppyraima53428 жыл бұрын
Old comment, but wanted to comment on it. You're probably right about the pop culture stardom of _T. rex_ and that being an influence in how we think the animal would've compared to others (i.e., destroyed every other creature that stood in its path), but insofar as fossil hunting for _T. rex_ goes, we've only found about 30 specimens, whereas we've got hundreds of individual _Triceratops_ specimens.

triceratops was made to win and it needed and should to. because t-rex is the triceratops's main predator so the trike had to win and defend itself......................you go triceratops :)

Meat Dragon i think it would happen most of the time. If it were a fight and the triceratops didnt charge like a fool how does t rex get around the horns. The real t rex probably took a horn to the back of the throat when it chomped of it's horn.

Meat Dragon well you cant sey that I meen it can winn your write but it isn't fast anaph to charg the t rex
@Rantsnrambles8089 жыл бұрын
Marilyn Giss again it doesn't need to charge. its like fighting a bear with a spear if he charges his weight would impale himself. unless there is another rex to sneak around it. the tric has more distance and an expendable shield

Jim Garrison you clearly don't know how muscular and large a lion is, it is not just 1/4 or 1/3 the size of a bull. Its actually almost the same size
