It is about 50km north of Castello Branco, 2080sq/m with a well and about 15 producing olive trees, and the cost £3,500. I fly out again at the start of December to take measurements and photographs of the property. I visited several properties on my initial visit but forgot to drop a pin on the one I wanted, so after returning to the meeting place with the agent I couldn't find my way back - the drone footage was me trying to find it. I messed up my flight booking, so instead of flying back on the 7th of November my return was 7th December - I hate wastage so I got a cheap flight back out for a week long visit so I can use the return lol

Fabulous! Can I ask how you found the farm, what were the fees and how much they were. Im really looking forward to your updates. Might be worth using 'what 3 words' to help you locacate it in future or other properties you like the look of

I've been browsing many property sites for the last 10 years, planning and scheming just never had the opportunity to do more - until now. I found this one on Idealista.pt. Its about €30 to register the land (in person) cheaper online, stamp duty is 0.8% the attorney about 1% probably a small flat fee too, solicitor a couple of hundred, total for my plot probably around €3-400 but I have set aside €750 just in case. The percentages are based on the cost of the land. Not sure if the fees are different for buildings, mine is rural/rustic.

It would be a good idea to mention the price and land area
