I haven't noticed the issue with park button, but yes the fact that the 10 gears are so close together means that RPM doesn't increase that much when dropping a gear. However the shifts themselves are super quick (for a sedan of this class)

I’m in the last years I of my 2009 Honda Odyssey with 5 speed transmission. It runs great 👍 but the rear rust in tire well (common issue) seems to be flaring up. The 5 speed was always a bit ruff meaning feeling the shifts for the first few gears and then smooth as silk after. (130k miles 250 km) I was never effected by the tranny issue this model had but looking to jump into a 2020 in the next few years. Waiting to see what people say, if it’s still sucks I might make the jump to Toyota. It’s been a great engine since the start. Hopping you and everyone else with the new 10 speed have no issues,

I drove a 9th gen sport (CVT) for 7 years and it has 7 simulated gears, and was just right. Buy I agree the paddles for downshifting just doesn't make sense in this car. I just leave it in normal and put it sport when I need to. Never really touch the paddles. I think Honda had to put it in there since it was on the Sport with CVT. I thin the 10 speed is smooth as all get out. Every once in a while it will down shift and I feel it a tad, but 99% of the time it is smooth as butter. Also on the Parking break, you can set it to engage every time you put the car in park. When at a stop (in a parking lot or driveway) you can pull up on the Parking (e-brake) wait about 10-15 seconds and it will beep-beep-beep, let go and then pull up again and hold. This will engage the parking break every time you put the car in park. Just have to disengage it when you want to go. By the way love the red with the red Si Honda front emblem. Nice touch.

I think if you hold the left paddle shifter, it'll down shift to the lowest gear possible. For example, if you're going 50 mph and hold it, it should drop from 9/10 gear to 3rd. Not completely sure if this car does it but I know most cars with paddles does

Have you ever tried to keep 1st gear with paddle shifters? It automatically shifts at about 3000 rpm’s...I’ve tried to run 1st gear to 5000-6000 rpm for (racing) you have to down shift back to first when the transmission shifts to 2nd..then it will allow 1st gear to be taken to redline!!!

@zeusl0743 жыл бұрын
They should've used a high torque CVT -- based on the CR-V's CVT. The CR-V's CVT is good for about 250hp, but add a couple more rings in the ring packs (Weber auto school), and it will handle high torque. A 10 speed attempts to achieve CVT performance, but it is still 10 speeds vs infinite number of ratios... no contest. Plus, the Honda CVT can be rebuilt; whereas, the Honda factory service manual says that the new 10 speed cannot be rebuilt due to the design.
