I condition my boots before I even wear them and I’ve never had problems with breaks ins. You never know how long that boot/leather has been sitting

Condition with what? Is there some product?

I use Cobbler’s Choice. But there are a MULTITUDE of leather conditioning products out there. You just have to be careful, cause most change the color of the leather to a darker tone.

What I do when breaking in boots is put a hair dryer down the shaft and warm the boot up then I will open it up and condition the inside of the boot heat it up again until it is nice and warm then condition it again I will do this 3 or 4 times from the inside it makes the boot super supple with out changing the color to much

Every time I need to break in a new pair of boots I carry moleskin padding with me. When you start to feel rubbing somewhere such as by the eyelets like that you stick a layer of padding down on your foot in the exact spot that was rubbing. Completely takes away the discomfort. Then for the next work week I stick padding on my foot on that spot while its still breaking in, no sense in waiting for it to start rubbing first each day and its easier to put it on beforehand anyways.

The boot and the laces are designed so that you wrap the laces around you ankle . It's a PNW boot thing .

I mean you can, there’s no real benefit to it. I actually do it myself , but it’s totally not necessary
